we have never stayed off site but are trying it this trip. We are staying at the Sheraton Visitana Villa's on I-Drive.

We love to eat at Giordanos pizza!! There are a couple of locations in the area. You can often get great deals for gift certificates on restaurant dot com...especially when you have a promo code!

Sweet tomatoes was good. It wasnt that far from SVV either i just stayed there last week.

Sweet tomatoes is my very favorite restaurant when we r in the Disney area. My kids eat soooo much there!

sweet tomatoes for sure. if you sign up for the emails you can get coupons and if you have a smart phone they don't even reqire printing the coupon. We just showed them our phone.

For pizza we always make the trip to NYPD Pizza at Lake Cay. It's a small place but we really enjoy the pizza.

I'll second the recommendation for Giordanos. We love their Italian Beef Sandwiches. Our kids love their deep dish pizza. They own restaurants in Chicago, so these are the real deal and so very yummy. We will be eating there this Nov. when we visit the World!!!

For dinners.....Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Chili's, Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel (all chains, I know.....but not ones we get to enjoy here in Canada!!).

For lunches.....Steak & Shake, Cici's Pizza.

And for something a little "different"....the Outta Control Dinner Show. Fabulous entertainment (Tony Brent is soooo funny, and his magic is amazing), decent food (all you can eat pizza, salad, popcorn, dessert, and unlimited beer and wine), and the price can't be beat at $22.99 pp.

I know a lot of people like Sweet Tomatoes, and we do too. However it will be a long long time before we ever go back. The last two times we have been my wife caught a real bad cold. Then of course I caught it from her. We were also diligent using hand sanitizer after every trip to the buffet. No more Sweet Tomatoes for us. We do love Giordano's though.

If you want fine dining, there are a whole bunch of nice restaurants on West Sand Lake rd. We drive out there for almost all our dinners.

I also love Sweet Tomatoes, but never ever shop without coupons.

My wife also loves Olive Garden (they also have coupons from time to time). To save our money (we have a small small budget) we always dine when new coupons are available, either for us, either for our kids.

I've went to Lone Star too, but I won't go there soon. Don't know why, so don't ask. ;)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Agreed - prefer the "real" restaurants along restaurant row to the chains. Try Seasons 52 for a unique experience. I check Orlando Sentinel to find out what's hot along there before each trip.

You do realize that Seasons 52 is a chain, don't you. Part of Darden with numerous locations.

Can anyone say how busy these chain restaurants get near disney? Back home the olive garden always has a 75 minute wait....at 3pm, at 10pm ....it just doesn't matter. We have gift cards for chain restaurants, so plan on going to a lot of them. Just want to plan how long of a wait we will have for dinner.

Yer right. I knew they had a few locations, but I don't think of limited locations as a chain; but looking online they are up to 30+ so I guess that does make it a chain in my mind too. It sure doesn't strike you as a chain restaurant tho - neither does Cantina Laredo, but I left them out because I do think of it as a chain. Sorry just my convoluted view of restaurant ownership.

Still, stand by my recommendation.

I agree with the recommendation for Seasons 52, although I am not a chain person either. In fact, I am looking forward to one opening here in Cincinnati sometime next year.

Another one I highly recommend is Cafe Tu Tu Tango. It is a tapas place with good food and a nice drink menu. A large selection of draft beer as well. The walls are covered with artwork for sale and each night artists are there "performing" if you will. They do have coupons on their website as well.
www.cafetututango.com .

Both of the above take reservations and, unlike the ADR, actually seat you at the reserved time!
