GOING TO DISNEY IN 3 DAYS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE YOUR FAVORITE PHOTO BACKDROP SPOT WAS. PLEASE NO CASTLES AS EVERYONE KNOWS THIS ONE. EXAMPLE:ONE OF MY FAVORITE PICTURE ON MY LAST VISIT WAS THE TOTEM POLE AT WILDERNESS LODGE WITH KIDS KNEELING IN FRONT AND STANDING BESIDE IT.

Hmmm...well since the castle is out.. That's my FAVORITE!! :teeth:

My favorite photos are the candid shots I have of the kids. Like..them eating ice cream or them exploring Minnie's house. Those kinda shots are my favorites more than a posed photo at a specific backdrop.

Sorry, I know that wasn't much help. Hope you have a great time!!

Two of my very favorite pictures are from our first WDW trip, and they were taken on the Safari ride at AK. One is of my older son with an ostrich in the background. The other is of my younger son with a giraffe in the background. DH took the pictures, and he's a pretty good photographer, so he lined it up so that you can't see any of the vehicle we're riding in - just the guys and the animals.

I have these this one, and another one, hanging in my office. I love it, and I get compliments on it all the time. It's at Animal Kingdom.

My very favorite turned out to be the waterfall by the gorilla area in AK. We have a beautiful family photo graciously taken for us by another guest. There are so many in AK, with all the lush vegetation everywhere. Another great one is on New York Avenue in MGM. If you stand with the flats of the tall buildings behind you, they appear very real in photos. Don't forget all the facades in the countries of World Showcase. Germany is particularly nice.

Have a great trip!:wave2:

My two favourite pictures are of the kids:

1. leaning on Mickey's mailbox in front of his house
2. admiring the giant snowglobe in a gift shop at the CR

P.S. Just bought a new digital camera for our upcoming trip, glad you started this thread for ideas!

pixiedust loved your thread. my favorite is the entrance beside the jungle cruise, lots of choices. I am going to disney on 04/16/04. i wish more people would reply to this great thread.

come on folks give us your best, i need some ideas! ;)

Everyone NEEDS a photo of their little one (or big one) riding on the Dumbo ride. We get a picture every year of our DGD on Dumbo and we are watching her grow up through our Disney memories.

Every year we take a photo of the kids at Downtown Disney in front of the flowerpots where Mickey is at the top pouring water out of his flowerpot. Its amazing how quick they have grown in a few years.

We went to Downtown Disney and as soon as you walk in, there is a winter scene with a "Merry Christmas" sign. We took a family photo and used it for Christmas cards. Everyone said how much they loved it and could see how much my dss (11 & 14) have grown.

Another one is of my dss playing checkers on Tom Sawyer's Island. It's just a nice relaxing picture to look at. No gameboys or tv!:earseek:

I also took a pic while we were waiting to see ITTBAB. We all had our 3-D glasses on and were up against one of the posters. I love it!

My favorite is the "Sword and the Stone" next to Cinderella's Carrousel. Every year I get a picture of each one of my girls trying to pull out the sword. It has become sort of a growth chart! Another one that seems to get in there every year, is the drums on the path from Africa to Asia.

I was looking through our pics that we have taken over the last few years and we have a few good ones. There is one with DH and I sitting on a bench next to the Goofy statue right in front of Tony's Town Square. One of me sitting by myself on Cinderella's throne in the entrance of Cinderella's Royal Table. And another is one where DH is riding on the Star Wars "thing" (the name of it escapes my mind at the moment) across the walkway from Star Tours. Anyway, he has his sunglasses on and this look on his face like he is really getting into it. It is priceless as we are both big Star Wars fans. Unfortunately, I read somewhere that they removed this "thing" recently. Can anyone confirm? Also, If anyone knows the name of it, please let me know cause it is going to drive me nuts. I would ask DH, but he is asleep.

Thanks!

-EDIT

It's a speeder bike.

We ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get pictures of the whole family on the carousel...not just at Disney, either! Any time we go to a park we get pics on the carousel. Prior to the kids, Dh and I would take pics of each other on the ponies, but now with our little one's being so little, we're standing beside them, holding them on the horse! The carousel was always my favorite ride at the fair growing up, and still is, no matter where. I'm happy to say it's become DD's favorite, too!! :)

Due to the colorful nature of this picture, I find it's best to wear solid colors that day...so the kids stand out.....see....

We always try to find new spots each trip. But the two we always take are with our kids each trip sitting next to our brick outside of the TTC. The other spot is ANY location in Epcot with the family and Spaceship Earth as a backdrop. You can get a lot of different angles if you have fun with it.

First let me say to shells9 and kadaten I love the pics of your kids, very adorable!!! Thanks for sharing those with us!

I have a great action picture of my son (he was a week shy of his sixth b-day) he has on a mickey shorts outfit and his mickey ears and he is dancing with his back next to the water squirting totem poles, about the time I went to take the picture the water hit him right in the back --the look on his face is priceless, of course I just happened to luck out with that action shot, but still the totem poles are still a great backdrop. I Also have a picture of him sitting on the bench with the statue of Goofy, that is really cute too.

EPCOT-
-Standing in front of the waterfall in Norway!
- In front of the clock in Germany ( especially if its striking the hour and you get the figures in it too!!)
- In front of the dancing fountain
- I try to get the kids in front of something in every country. Makes for a great scrapbooking section!
- A shot with world showcase lagoon on the background
- the big troll inside Norway
- playing drums at the African Outpost
-

MAGIC KINGDOM-
- Outside of Pirates of the Carribean with the parrot
- The cinderella fountain beside Tinkerbell shop
- throne inside Cindy's castle
- with the Mickey & Minnie topiaries
- Petes Garage
- Pulling on the sword in the stone
- in front of the Haunted Mansion
- In front of the huge ToonTown Mickey sign

MGM-
- with the singing in the rain umbrellas
- the big hat
- on the street with Tower of Terror behind you
- big guitar at RnRC
- pulling the rope outside of Indiana Jones
- The Pizza Planet! Cool toy story things there
- the snowman back behind pizza planet
- New York City skyline
- the dancing mops and snow white topiary
- The gas station where you rent strollers
- The giant Kermit behind Muppets 3-D
- Finding the key under the welcome mat at Muppets 3-d
- the Muppet Fountain
- On the steps in front of the apts. in New York

ANIMAL KINGOM-
- the Tree of Life
- in front of the big Dinosaur in front of the ride Dinosaur

OUR NEWEST thing we like to take pictures of... is the kids in differnet hats from all over the parks! Magic Kingdom has differnet themes in the park, so we get lots of hat pictures there.. Epcot's counties have differnet hats, and we got some neat ones in MGM!! Its fun and the kids like looking for different hats to try on!

:D We have a picture from every trip with our kids sitting on the wall in front of the flowers shaped liked Mickey Mouse at the front entrance of MK.
When my Mom saw the first picture she brought over a the same picture of me when I was 10 yrs old at Disneyland in CA.

It has become a traditional picture for our visits and we have them all in the same frame. Pretty neat to see how the kids grew through all the years and visits.:D

But, is there such a thing as a bad picture when your at WDW!!!!:D

I second the hat idea - we've got some great ones in different hats - it's almost become a tradition to try on the hats in Mexico - (problem is I always worry about any livestock in them - know what I mean?).

Don't forget different expressions - we've got great pictures of family looking terrified (pretended) in front of Tower of Terror Sign and shivering, (wrapping arms around the body) beside the snowman in MGM.

I spent some time last visit just photographing the architecture in World Showcase, there are some lovely spots if you look for them. I particularly liked the courtyard in Italy and the gardens in China and England.

Another place we got some wonderful shots was in the lobby of AKL when we went to Boma for dinner. The furniture is unique and the artwork and lighting is beautiful.

WDW is a photographer's paradise (if you can find the less crowded places).

Ann.

Does anyone know...is the white iron bench in front of the flower cart still at MK? Growing up, whoever we brought to the World, had their picture taken on that bench. We have great pictures of both sets of my grandparents, my parents, my brother and sister-in-law and now I want to get mine and my fiance's picture taken there...I hope it's still there? I guess I just haven't looked for it lately?!

These are some great suggestions!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
