favorite part of turkey is

those little round medalions on the bottom of the turkey called the tenderloins......those are my most favorite thing.....NOW I am saying ...I make this meal.....I do most of the cooking except the big pie and the smaller pies....so that sucker is my bird and those are MY tenderloins......I supposed this will raise some eyebrows......and that I do not share.....well once a year I DO NOT SHARE...any one else like these

I like the wings and this year I am roasting a few extra! I read in one of my cooking mags that roasting extra wings with your turkey makes a better gravy!

I have to agree with you Pumba. I'm not much of a turkey person. Those yummy tenderloins that have been sitting in the drippings are delicious.

A few years ago I purchased a free-roam turkey. I loved it, lots of taste. My family however did not, they enjoy the injected, tasteless birds they sell in the supermarket.

Growning up we always purchased our turkey from the Turkey Farm. I could never figure out why our turkey tasted so different then other people turkeys.

A funny story, my SIL went to Maine to purchase a free-roam steer. DD cooked some up for supper. He was making a face as to the taste and said he really didn't care for the meat. You better like it I have 175 pounds in the freezer.

We get so used to the tasteless meat that is sold in suppermarkets when we have a piece of flavorful meat it just doesn't taste right.

turkeys ourselves at our brother in laws house out in the WOODS....the turkeys were the best I have ever had.....same with the kosher chickens that we sometimes are able to get at a farm ....there is something about free range critters........we also get our eggs from free range hens......but they have stopped laying cause they are a little bit cold........BUT my favorite will always be the tenderloins that the turkeys have ......yummy.....we just got our 28 lb turkey.....

I love the gizzard!! Everyone in our family likes the gizzard so its a fight.....except last Thanksgiving when I was helping mom "unstuff" the turkey and found what I thought was the gizzard....until I pulled out another one and another one....seems mom decided to end the fight and add a package of chicken gizzards to her stuffing so everyone could have one.
