So, if you could pick ANY week out of the whole year, when would you go to WDW, or when would you absolutely not go? I am trying to plan our next trip. I originally was shooting for the 1st week in Dec (2004). However, it just seems alittle chilly at night, and too many germs around. So, if you could pick any week which would it be and why? Even if it's the 1st week of Dec. I'm interested to hear opinions.

The week between Christmas and New Year's. Even if it were
free. Well, maybe that's going to far!!

The best time for crowd free (almost ) the first or second weekof September. All kids are back to school and parents are getting back in the groove of that . We went on all our favorite ride atleast 5 times a day. Worst time is Christmas week. Wow talk about wall to wall people, but it was Disney at Christmas time. And if I could do it again ..I would..Nothing is like New Years Eve at Epcot !!!! Good Luck

Our last two trips have been the first week in May (unbelievably low crowds given the time period) and the last week of Sept. first week of Oct. The Sept./Oct. trip was the best as far as crowds were concerned and we got to attend the first MNSSHP. We are trying the end of Jan. first of Feb. this time. Here's hoping for warm temps. and plenty of the sunny stuff. As always, the earlier you get to a park the better. Using early entry and then switching to another park around 11 a.m. or noon always seems to be a good plan. Hopefully we will get three in a row as far as low crowds are concerned! As for the worst times, we have intentionally avoided the year end holiday season but have been in July. Crowds, heat, misery! The hotel pool came in real handy!

Favorite time to go:
Nov. week before Thanksgiving. Low crowds, moderate Temps, and you can watch the resorts transform to the X-mas decor.

Least Favorite time:
July. Hot Hot Hot!! Tour groups everywhere. Crowds intollerable(IMO) We will never do that again!

Thank you for all your opinions. I have been leaning towards either early May or late Oct. We have been in mid April, beginning of Feb, and end Oct beginning of Nov. April was a zoo, but it was close to Easter so forgiveable. The other 2 times were okay as far as crowds go!! I really wanted to see the holiday decorations. However, Thanksgiving-Christmas is so hectic as it is, that I just don't see a week long trip in the mix!!! Anyone know if August is still too, too hot???

We were there Labor Day weekend and the week after Labor Day. It was certainly hot!:sunny: However, after all the walking and heat I lost about 5 pounds. :teeth: We are planning to return the same time frame this year.::yes::

August is brutal, IMHO - way too hot and humid. However, one good thing is the last week of August is very slow in the parks (lots of kids are back in school by then) and the Disney resorts switch to Value season. (But you still have to put up with the weather)

The best time to go is during the first two weeks in December. Our last trip was the first week in Dec in 2001 and the weather was absolutely beautiful!! There were no crowds whatsoever and the parks and hotels were decorated for Christmas. MVMCP is a must - the kids love it. I have not been during a "will never go again" time, but the first two weeks in Dec are the best!:teeth:

Favorite time is any week the Food and Wine Festival is going on.

Least favorite.....well I guess I really dont have a least favorite time. As long as I am on vacation. We go to Disney around the first week of July every year since DS is in school and I have that week off every year. While it is hot and crowded it still beats being at work.:teeth:

I have to agree that the first week of December was my favorite!! We go every January and really like that time too, but if you arent able to accept the weather changes,as it can be hot and cold in the same day, then I guess that wouldnt be good for you. We have had some hot trips and some colder trips in January. We tried going Thanksgiving day in 2002 and stayed for a week after that. I didnt find the parks too bad over the weekend, but the following week was awesome!!! There were no crowds, the weather was nice, and all of the Christmas decorations and Christmas shows were there!!! It was my favorite time! We went this past October as well, and I didnt like it as much. It was more crowded, and it was hot.

I went the first week in dec 2002 The daytime weather was great for touring the parks between 65-75. Some of the nights were a little chilly but not to bad. I would rather go in the coller wether i would prob passout in the summer months. Plus the decorations in December are so nice!!

I've been in April and September and would never do those again. To crowded in April and to hot and humid in Sept. I've been there between Christmas and New Year's and the only good thing about that was just the excitement of Christmas. Way to crowded. Then, last year I caught the end of the Food and Wine Festival and left before Thanksgiving. It was wonderful. The crowds were non-existant and the weather was great. There were a couple of evenings when it got quite cool but that's what sweatshirts are for. Having said that I will go on to say that I want to go at least once for the Flower and Garden Festival and at least once for Halloween. The one big advantage to spring and summer is that there shouldn't be any attractions closed for rehab. That is always in the off season.

Never again will I go to WDW the week between Xmas and New Years.

The crowds were unbelievable - 3 hour standby lines for mission-space and testtrack and fastpasses gone by 10 am! Did get to go on the ride on 1/1 already the parks weren't nearly as crowded. Only had to waite 20 minutes stanby for mision space.

NYE in EPCOT was so bad the DH and I left by 8pm and went back to the resort. We had planned to stay at the park until midnight.

This was our first time there so can't say when our favorite time was - though October sounds like it would be fun around Halloween.

Favorite time- after Thanksgiving, before Christmas. All the Magic, without all the crowds.

Least favorite time- when it is too hot and humid. Lived in Phoenix for sometime and now I hate the thought of ever being hot again...

I make it a point to always go in September, if I can. The crowds are low, and I love the heat, and it's Value season, so resort prices are reasonable. September is my favorite time of year.

I have also been in mid-May, which was very pleasant, but starting to get crowded.

My January trip was my least favorite, but that was because it was very cold, and I was staying off-site and had to use the hotel's awful, awful bus transportation...

Still, a bad day at WDW is better than a good day anywhere else! :D

I've been in May, July, August, October, November, and December. May was nice crowd-wise during the week, busy on the weekend and was quite humid. July was horrendous. I swear the heat index was 115 the day we were at Epcot. If you weren't wet due to sweating, you were getting drenched in the rain storms. Parks were busy the whole time. August was not as bad as July, with only one horrible rainstorm, and it was not AS hot (only in the high 90s). Parks were a little less crowded, but still busy. October we went Columbus Day weekend so it was busy for that, but the weather was nice and comfortable. High 80s. Went this year the day after Thanksgiving and I loved it! Sure the parks were busy on the weekend, but they were still managable. We wore shorts/t-shirts during the day and carried sweatshirts. Personally, I found the weather to be wonderful, but I am a cold weather girl. Nice to walk around and not worry about heat exhaustion!

I would reccommend the week after Thanksgiving to anyone who wants to see the parks for the holidays but not the holiday crowds.

I try my hardest never to go in July again. Heat and tour groups do not mix well!

We've been the last week in Oct...nice weather, crowds not too bad, the first week in Nov. similar to Oct trip. We were there the third week in Aug this year. Very rainy but no more humid or hot than it has been in Mass for the past few summers. Crowds were up due to the FTP. And then we went for the third week in Dec this year also. Now, while I liked the decorations for the holidays, the nights were just too darn chilly for me. And way too many coughing, sneezing kids (one of them mine!!). If I had no children and could go at any time, I would go the week after Thanksgiving. But, I have a dd, so I go in August now. I won't go in July at any costs. I've heard way too many horror stories about that month.

I've been in early January, May, June, October, November, and December. My least favorite was June-I don't like heat and that was the hottest. Can't pick a favorite time. All the others had reasons why that time was best (F&G in May, Christmas things in December, good swimming weather in October, low crowds in November and early January). So, except for summer, I think any time is great!
