I'm on my 3rd Keurig and it is on its way out. As with my 2 previous machines, the pump is not working consistently or well. I'm done with Keurigs and any single-cup brewer related to Keurig (Cuisinart, Mr. Coffee). I want a good old-fashioned drip brewer.

Here's what I'd like:

12 cup capacity
no dripping when coffee is poured from the carafe

I don't need a grinder, a timer or any other bells and whistles but would take them if it's otherwise a great machine. I know this is a budget board but I'm more concerned with good coffee and a dependable machine. THANKS!!!

I love my Mr. Coffee. Nothing fancy schmancy about it. Put in the filter, coffee, pour the water, and in about 7 minutes I have coffee. It's a 12 cup. I make at least a pot a day EVERY day and have had this same machine for over 4 years with no problems. The best part. . .it was less than $20 at Wal-Mart.

Thanks. I keep wanting to spend a lot of money on a coffee maker, LOL. However, in my experience it's the cheapy Mr. Coffees that keep popping up as a recommended machine.

Once I spent $10 on a 12 cup Hamilton Beech machine at Walmart and that thing was a beast. It lasted 8 years before I changed my kitchen color scheme and donated it.

I have one of those; I've had it for about 7 years now. It still works great. It was the right price (I was a broke graduate student at the time), and it still works great!

While I love my Mr. Coffee, my Mom loves the Bunn DH and I got her for Christmas one year. It's about 5 years old now and still going strong. If memory serves, we paid about $150 for it. The only difference I can see between it and my beloved cheapy is that it brews in about 3 minutes.

Actually, before I got my Keurig, I used a double-pot Black and Decker coffee maker. DH likes full-leaded and I like decaf or tea or hot chocolate. My only complaint is that we wasted too much coffee; making 2-3 cups made the coffee kind of bitter, so we made a full pot and tossed what we didn't drink. I'm keeping the B&D for when we have house guests I've had it for about five years and have no complaints about it.

I wanted the convenience of a Keurig, but didn't want the expense that goes along with it. We bought the Hamilton Beach Scoop 2 Way and I love it! I can brew a pot of coffee or just a cup or travel mug. For the single cups I can use either regular coffee grounds or I can buy the pods. The only thing I don't like is it lacks a brew-pause feature. Other than that, I love it!

I have a Mr Coffee, just one step up from the cheapest model available because we wanted the programmable timer and auto-off so DH's coffee is ready for him in the morning and the pot doesn't stay on all day if he forgets to shut it off. It was a bridal shower gift, so we've had it almost 10 years now and it still works just fine.

I have a Giada DeLaurentis coffeemaker that I bought at Target. I think it makes an excellent cup of coffee.

I received a Keurig as a Christmas gift, but I returned it for several reasons.

We are Cuisinart fans because we have people getting up at different times in the am and the coffee stays fresh longer in the carafe. We've tried several brands but keep going back to theirs.

I love my Cuisinart Grind-n-Brew. In fact that is our preferred coffee maker. We have the Keurig simply for convenience when we don't want to make a full pot. I know you said you didn't need a grinder, but nothing taste better than fresh ground coffee (IMHO). The Cuisinart Brew Central always gets good reviews as well.

I admit I'm a coffee snob, but I always feel that the cheap machines make the coffee too fast. The water just passes right through and doesn't have time to seep.

We replaced our old coffee maker with the Hamilton Beach Brew Station (summit I think it is called) and we LOVE it. It is just super.

My favorite is my Bunn. It is expensive at $100 BUT it is the one appliance I will never be without. I have given them as gifts and refered them to friends and EVERYONE loves it. It brews coffee in less than 2.5 minutes and makes a great cup of coffee. It also has a carafe instead of a burner so the coffee doesnt burn if it sits for awhile. The carafe works great. I really cant say enough about this appliance as I am a true fan of Bunn. :worship:Once you have one you wont go back to a traditional maker.

Thanks everyone! I love that the BUNN BT is made in the USA and has a 3-year warranty!!! I also liked the Hamilton Beach 2 scoop or brew machine but read reviews stating the unit leaks. Otherwise, it is a great idea and a pretty machine. I saw it at Target.

I have a cheapy programable Mr. Coffee we decided to upgrade to Keurig after a month returned the keurig and took out my my Mr, coffee again nuff said :goodvibes

I have a 12 year old Mr Coffee, still going strong! It is programable but other than that nothing fancy. My boss only buys the best....we had two Bunn's in the staff lounge and neither of them work.

I've had 2 Scoop for a couple of months - no leaking, except when I tried to pour a cup of coffee while it was brewing....what a mess! It really is the best of both worlds, AND no expensive kcups:surfweb:
