Looking for some opinions for a ladies only trip. Proximately to parks not important.

Thank you.

Sounds like fun!

There are tons of choices, can you tell us what is important to you?

Spa, pool area, onsite restaurants, type of bedding, and maybe a price range...

You can get "luxury" rooms from the $180 - $400 price range depending on the property.

People have really good things to say about Ginn Reunion resort. I've also heard good things about Portofino Bay Hotel at US. It is a Loews Hotel.

The Grand Bohemian Hotel in downtown Orlando is also nice.

Have fun planning!

The Omni Rosen at Champions Gate, check out their website with luxury spa and great restaurants. What more could a girl want????? princess:

We are big fans of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. If you do want to stay there, join their frequent stay program or see if any of your group are already members, you'll get some nice perqs. Sometimes the place apparently pops up on some of the discount hotel sites, check out tripadvisor.com for some reviews.

We always stay on the Regency Club(their Concierge) level, but that's becaue my DH is a Diamond Club & if we are paying, we get a free upgrade to Concierge.
Here's what we like...
Very nice staff
hearty breakfast in am
sodas, coffee, etc throughout day,
hearty snack/appetizers for happy hour
complimentary drinks for happy hour(5-7?)
after-dinner liquers
great lounge
View of BOTH MK fireworks & IllumiNations from Concierge Level
Close to DTD (and PI if you like that)
complimentary "RC" robes (nice to go to the pool)

The hotel has gorgeous grounds, lots of interesting statuary, walking trails, beautiful plants, macaws in the lobby, orchids *everywhere*.
Most activities are included with the activities fee(if you stay Regency Club, no additional charge). The activities include...
sailboats
par three golf/executive golf
surrey bikes
bikes
paddleboats

There is a Spa & Health Club down by the grotto pool.
World-class equestrian facility
Jack Nicklaus golf course
other golf courses
If they are running it, the Sunday Brunch is pricey, but one of the BEST I have ever eaten at (but only if you like unlimited champagne, different caviars, cooked to order hot dishes with veal/lamb/seafood/etc, breakfast selections, sushi selections, dessert buffet...)
twlight 'smores on their 'beach"
complimentary champagne when you check in

yeah, we like it.
agnes!

Thanks so much. I have some investigating to do. Myself and another woman have both stayed at the Gaylord, so we are looking for something different. The Hyatt sounds promising.

Hi...if $$$$ is no object, the Ritz Carlton out off Central Florida Parkway is the top of line now in the Orlando area...might be replaced next year with a new one, but it is still king/queen of the hill as far as I know. A friend stayed there on business. He travels a lot first class, but said this place was like nothing he had been in before!

good luck...Ted

okay Ted, you got me interested - who do you think can top the Ritz-carlton - that new one on Disney property?

Isn't there a Four Seasons scheduled?

To the OP: I have stayed at the RC and it was fabulous. Gaylord was fine but the RC was really special.

Hi Spicey...your guess as good as mine..I probably should have said "next few years."
You and I remember when it was The Peabody, then Hyatt Grand Cypress, then Marriott World Center, then the Omni Rosen, then The Gaylord or The Omni at Champions Gate and now the Ritz...Did I forget any in the last 25 years??

Not sure the the big Hotel at Reunion is in the running as I keep hearing it is a "condo hotel" or units owned all or in part by individual investors.

You might be right about the new one going in on the Osprey Ridge Golf Course. I understand that Eagle Pines will be bulldozed and a new "community" of high end homes and the hotel are going in. Disney is selling the golf course and the rights to the community to a private company, from what I hear at the golf courses.

It is NEVER ENDING....and that is why is so fun...I am sure there are those that try to guess the next big Vegas Hotel......me, I am strickly Mickey Mouse!!

Peace...Ted

I would recommend the Club Level of the Ritz. If your stay is over a weekend, be sure to attend their Sunday Brunch in the Vineyard Grill - it is amazing.

I haven't stayed at the Ritz, but have enjoyed Gaylord Palms. Great location close to Disney, and the hotel itself is very nice.
