Please put down your favorite "secret" spot for dining off park/resort. Thanks for the suggestions.

MKY:)

I'll start,

Tony Romas for ribs! Located past the downtown disney markplace on the road to the left in a small marketplaza.

MKY;)

We only tried it once but Bahama Breeze was an interesting place (expensive thou). I loved their signature drink which had a ton of alcohol in it - needless to say I only had one! Be prepared to Wait and Wait and Wait. Food can be spicy so be prepared.

We always like Ponderosa, Bob Evans & Cracker Barrels.

WE LOVE STEAK N SHAKE. (I know there is one near Walmart-don't know if there are any others).

Logan's Roadhouse Grill. They put buckets of shelled peanuts on the table. Good food, great atmosphere. There is one on 192.

Don Pablos, International Drive
- Mexican chain that features tortillas, corn chips made fresh daily
Prices are very reasonable and portions large.

My favorite is the El Matador with a cheese enchilada, a chicken enchilada, chicken flautas, beef taco, beans and rice for $8.99. It's more than enough food for my son and I.

I'd also vote for Bahama Breeze, but I would also add Cafe Tu Tu Tango on I-Drive, Divino's at The Mercado (great Italian), Gain's German restaurant (on the junction of Sand Lake and OBT), Key W Kool's on 192, Wild Jack's Steakhouse (I-Drive), Daryl's (I-Drive and 192) and A Passage to India (the best curry in town!).

Pebbles in the Crossroads shopping center. Delicious, lots of variety, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. My daughter still raves about the conch chowder. We wished we could have gone a second time.

AHHHHHHH...Shell's local seafood....about 8 miles east of Disney on 192 (green sign on the left) great local seafood, very relaxed medium prices, free salted in the shell peanuts.....great bathroom sign!!!!!!!!!!!!...enjoy...Ted

Another vote for Tony Roma's (however we were there last weekend and the service was very slow) Also like to go to Bahama Breeze, Fish Bones, Carrabba's Italian and The Crab House.

The before mentioned Shells down on 192 -- inexpensive and great clam chowder.

Pebbles is a classy little place in the Crossroads....not a real kid magnet but we have eaten there with our little ones.

Uno's Pizzeria has good pizza and really good chicken wings, also, in the Crossroads.

Sonny's Barbecue just past the SuperWalmart down on 192 is not real fancy but cheap prices and really good food...their fried okra is to die for.

Loagan's on 192 is really good and you get a ton of food.

Landry's has really good food and once again you get a ton of food...their house salad is delicious.

Bahama Breeze near I4 in LBV has great Key Lime pie but it is about $6 or $7 a slice. We love their chicken quesadias off of their appetizer menu but find this place a bit over-rated and a little bit too proud of themselves.

Someone mentioned S&S, great shakes and pretty tasty hamburgers but my wife can't stand the place.

We mix it up between Disney lunches due to the cheaper prices and dining off-site for some evening meals. But we tend to only have 1 larger meal per day...sort of like we do at home.

it is Giordano's !! There are two locations. One is in Lake Buena Vista on SR535 Apoka-Vineland in the Eckards plaza & the other is in Kissimmee on 192W in the Goodings plaza. They have the best stuffed pizza I have ever had...I will be there in 6 days & can't wait.....;)

Another vote for Giordano's. We go to the one on 192W. I love their cheese ravioli. We always make it a point to go there at least once for dinner when we can. Last December, we didn't go because my mother was with us and she doesn't like Italian food (no taste, that woman!;)) so when we go in Sept., we're definitely not missing it this time.

If you're up at Universal and in the mood for barbecue, we love
Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbecue at the corner of Kirkman and
Conroy. Great ribs, good prices.

I'll also second the votes for Shell's and Pebbles.

For everyday eating, I find the Ponderosa restaurants - lots of locations in Orlando and Kissimmee - very good especially for the breakfast buffet; always loads of choice and good service at terrific prices. They even do a limited take away service for those post park days when you just cant be bothered with a restaurant meal.

I always find Subway a good option for those nights too - a foot long philly cheesesteak with extra meat and the cheese melted, is just the ticket ! ;)

Shoneys do a very similar spread and are a good option, I just prefer the surroundings and choice at Ponderosa.

For a better class of meal in informal surroundings try Charlies Steakhouse - 2 on I-Drive, two near Maingate/Kissimmee that I know of - terrific quality at good prices, try the pork chops - and if you're brave (or dumb, depending on your outlook), ask for the off menu 72 ounce steak... ;)

TGI Fridays restaurants have a similar feel and are always a good choice - they do some killer cocktails too !

And speaking of Maingate area, if you get down thatway, try Key W Kools, a very good place for steak/ribs on West US 192 about 1 to 1.5 miles from the World drive junction, and about a quarter mile before Splendid China. Always had great meals there !

Chinese food fans should try Bill Wongs at the North end of I-Drive about a quarter mile past Wet N Wild on the way to Belz Mall. Its a buffet style restaurant that also has an a lá carte menu, but I personally wouldnt spend the extra money just to get table service - the all you can eat buffet food is absolutely fantastic, and even though I usually stay near maingate when I'm over, I make the half hour drive 2 or 3 times a week, its that good ! ;)

Carabbas. We don't have them in Canada so it's a real treat. Also the 2 for one happy hour doesn't hurt their case either!!!

Jungle Jims was pretty good. They are also located at Crossroads, as well as Red Lobster.
