I tried to search, so sorry if this is a duplicate topic, but the results are full of "counter service" and "table service" and I can't find SERVICE ;)

My family demographic is aging up and we'll probably do fewer character meals and more TS without buffets. we really love being off our feet and pampered a bit for a park break! We generally travel with 6, so we qualify as a "group" and wouldn't complain about our experiences at all, but if I'm being honest, we've had plenty of sub-standard service at disney (slow drink refills or can't find server for a check at buffets, rushed service at a table service followed by a server who disappears between entree and dessert time, brings wrong entree, doesn't write down a special request and sure enough it's not done)

Of course there are many variations and exceptions, but Can you help steer me toward restaurants where you find consistently good service (or away from those who are kind of "known for" bad service)?

I've literally never had a consistently good meal anywhere at WDW...and I am certain that every restaurant that is brought up, someone would have had a bad meal there.

I've had awesome service and sub-par food, I've had awesome food and sub-par service. One trip we had an AMAZING dinner at Le Cellier...next time we went it was terrible. It's just not easy to give a definitive answer.

My advice is to steer toward either signature restaurants OR restaurants that are off the beaten path or eat during off times. The busier the restaurant, the more stretched the waitstaff and kitchen will be.

The exception to all of my statements is V&A....which I don't think has ever received a bad review...ever!

That's what I'm afraid of and I've experienced things like that myself. However, I've eaten at 50's prime time 5 times and 4 of them were great. Of course the waitstaff there are part of the whole experience and that 5th time was a bummer. However, I'd still recommend it to people with a "nothing is guaranteed" qualifier, and hope for the best. So yes, I've had a bad meal there, but I'd still say it's usually pretty good and am hoping for other examples at least as good as that.

Well, I'm on this Captain's Grille kick at the Yacht Club. We ate there twice on our last trip and both times were GREAT. Easy to get a reservation, our waiter AND the food were excellent both times.

We've also always had luck at Chefs de France. Even with a HUGE party of 8 adults and 6 kids our waiter was patient and attentive and the food is always good.

We tried San Angel Inn for the first time on our last trip, and the service (as well as the food) was really good.

I had great table service 2x last November at Tokyo Dining in Epcot. In fact, my first dinner (rappongi: tempura scallops and shrimp) and the service was so great that I cancelled a dining reservation later in the week to return and enjoy the same dish. I arrived for early dinners both evenings . . . at approx 5 pm . . . and enjoyed a window table with views of the drum show and the lagoon. If you see something on the menu that you would enjoy, Tokyo Dining is a good choice and the service was great both times.

While not my favorite place from a food perspective, the best non-signature service we've had was at GF Cafe. I've read several other reviews with similar experiences

We have always had consistently good service at The Wave @ the CR whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. We've even had the same server on more than 1 occasion and find most of them to be very friendly and available when you need them. (we also enjoy the food there as well). It's an easy monorail trip if you happen to want a break from the MK. We usually go here for their fabulous breakfast buffet on our MK day and then just walk to MK from there.

'Ohana, Chefs de France, Yak and Yeti, Liberty Tree Tavern, Mama Melrose, Rose and Crown, Beaches and Cream, Kona, House of Blues

We like these for good service & good food:
MK - Liberty Tree Tavern
Epcot - Rose & Crown & Teppan Edo
HS - Sci Fi
AK - Yak & Yeti
Resorts - Captain's Grille & Flying Fish

It could be a hit or miss at any restaurant. I have had consistent good service at Yak and Yeti, GF Cafe, and PT 50s.
