Favorite Non-park Spots for breakfast - need suggestions

Hi all! Love reading everyone's reviews and need some help to pick a spot for breakfast.

We have a non-park day and thought it would be nice to have a good breakfast that day. We'll be staying at CSR, so I thought Maya Grill was an obvious choice, but I haven't heard too much about their breakfast.

What other breakfasts are pretty good? I'm not looking for a character meal, just good food. We tried OHana last year and my older son didn't really care for it. We are going to Cape May for dinner that night, so don't want to go there for breakfast. I'd actually prefer it to be a less-traveled place, since I'll be making an ADR only 60 days in advance.

We'll have our car, so transportation is not an issue.

Thanks! :goodvibes

You should definately check out Boma at AKL!

The Swan/Dolphin is supposed to have a great breakfast buffet.

Kona at Poly also seems to get rave reviews on here.

Over at the Swan resort there is a fantastic buffet breakfast. Reasonably priced, great food. Characters only on the weekends. No reservations, just walk in...you will love it.

NOTE-due to problem with time stamp, my post which should have been #4, became first post. Please read post #2 for question, thanks :) I quoted OP here so hopefully those looking won't be too confused.

I was going to suggest 'Ohanas until I read about non-charcter meal (Also was going to suggest Park Fare) but I agree with Bomas. I've heard excellent things about breakfast (we've only done dinner) and after eating you can check out the resort and the animals-very cool! :cool1:

Kona is the best. Boatwrights at POR has sweet potato pancakes that are delicious. Spoodles on the Boardwalk has a great breakfast too.

Boma is our favorite, followed by Cape May and Kona. There are tons of all 3 places in my March/April link in my signature

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll check them out!

I've seen lots of threads on the DIS today with the posts out of order; not sure what's up with that, hopefully the tech dept is working on it!

The Swan/Dolphin restaurant is Fresh. It is a fantastic, high quality buffet breakfast with excellent coffee. I have always had very good service there. After you eat, you can spend your free day walking around the Boardwalk, touring all its resorts and playing mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens. :thumbsup2

One of the greatest, and most reasonable priced, breakfast buffets is at Solaris in the Marriott World Center. It is seven days a week from 6:30 to 10:30 on weekdays and until 1:00 on weekends. The current adult price is about $19, and it includes a wide range of juices as well as coffee in the price.

They have eggs (all sorts) to order with about 15 different omlette fillings, pancakes to order, about a dozen different kinds of fruit, smoked salmon, assorted meats and cheeses, and on and on. The total buffet length is about 70 feet!

I try to go there at least once a month.

I second Fresh. ::yes:: They had the best breakfast food there, compared to other buffets we went to.

Should add that Maya Grill has a pretty standard breakfast buffet. Excellent bacon and a breakfast burrito take it up just a notch. It's usually fairly quiet there, if that means anything..

I love the Rainforest Cafe at AK for breakfast. The breakfasts are big enough to be shared, and their coffee is quite good. It's a fun atmosphere, though I'd go there for their breakfast food alone (just so-so on their lunch/dinner menu). I really loved their breakfast pizza and was only able to eat half.

Also, AK has characters doing meet and greet *outside* of the park entrance (prior to the park opening, that is). So you can get a little Disney magic without burning up a park pass. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for the great ideas! I think this will be the day we head to Sea World (free military tickets) so I was hoping for someplace on Disney property that we can stop at before we head over there. I was thinking we'd have a big breakfast and then only have to have snacks at SW before our dinner at Cape May.

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian for tonga toast, and Port Orlean French Quarter for beignets!

If you like buffets the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was really nice food!:thumbsup2
