Hi all... Hubby just sprang on me that he wants to run the marathon in January... and I have decided to run the half ... so super excited because I thought I wasn't getting back to my favorite place on earth until January 2011!!!:woohoo: Due to financial reasons, we are thinking of not doing the parks but still doing the dining plan... (I may talk him in to just one park day though...;))
anyway... what are your favorite non-park places to eat? Oh and we will be without our three little munchkins... who aren't really that little anymore!
Thanks in advance for your input...

Soo many...
Boma for a great Buffet

Jiko for a nice romantic meal.

Kona Cafe for any meal.

Whispering Canyon for breakfast

Narocossee's for a beautiful view..

Beachs and Cream for great Ice Cream.

Yatchsman Steakhouse for a great steak.

ESPN to chill and watch a game

Shula's for THE best steak.

and that's just on property..there's plenty off property near by too.

Our favorite non Park restaurant is Jiko. It is a beautiful restaurant and great food. It is also pretty quiet.
I also like Kona Cafe and 'OHana at the Poly and the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk is fun.
Have a Great Trip

Our favorites are Artist Point, Yachtsman Steak House and Fultons.

Ohana is our favorite resort restaurant.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Downtown Disney Westside. The food was amazing and we still rank it in our top 3 Disney meals of all time.

BTW, don't confuse this with the Wolfgang Puck Express counter-service locations at both the Marketplace and Westside. This is the table-service Cafe located at Westside. The Express locations are also great, but the Cafe is something special!

There are tons. I'm not too fond of the restaurants in DTD. Earl of Sandwich is a great quick counter-service location though.

In terms of resorts, you really can't go wrong with any of the deluxes. Favorites include Contemporary's California Grill, GF's Grand Floridian Cafe and Narcoosee's, Poly's Kona Cafe, and AKL's Boma (hands-down).

Have fun! We'll also be there for the tail end of the marathon, but not specifically for the marathon. Good luck!

Kona Cafe- Tonga Toast!!!!
Grand Floridian Cafe- The Hidden Gem of Disney Dining

So many to choose from, but our 2 faves were in Downtown Disney:

Earl of Sandwich
Wolfgang Puck Express

My husband and I are also doing the Marathon. We are planning for the California Grill for the night of the Marathon to celebrate.

We loved Kimonos in either the swan or dolphin. And just walking around the Boardwalk is always nice.
A question though, I was just messing around on the disney site a while ago, and tried to book rooms, no tickets and get the DDP, and it wouldn't let me - you had to have tickets to the parks in order to get the DDP.

Am I wrong??? I really hope I am!!
