Talladega---almost always a good race and I have lots of extended family in the area. One of my favorite pictures is my family posing half-way up one of the turns--done several tours of the track.
Talladega is the only one I've been to and it's a great place to watch a race, IMO. One of those that TV doesn't show you even a tenth of what's going on. But I'm also big on shorter tracks... Bristol, Martinsville and even Richmond.
Daytona is my favorite. I used to work 2 miles down the street from the track and had a service call at MRN, when they operated out of the infield. I had to drive my Mustang on the track to get to the building. Guess it's not everyone who can say they left some rubber on one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.
We have been to CA (have our own seats there ), Sonoma, Vegas, Phoenix, Charlotte and Bristol. Nothing compares to Bristol. The excitement was exhilirating. We still talk about it like two giddy teens. Next up was to be Daytona but DH is a HUGE Dale Sr. fan and says he cannot bring himself to go there and enjoy himself. So, we have not been there yet. I keep trying to talk him into a two week Daytona/Disney vacation of a lifetime
My favorite track is the one Jeff Gordon wins on And considering there are only 4 he hasn't won on, well, that's a lot of tracks. Okay, I've only been to one track and that is Texas Motorspeedway and it's okay. I really enjoy watching the short tracks - Bristol, Martiansville and Richmond and I love night races.
Gotta love the tradition of the Brickyard.......where else can you see good looking rich guys kneeling down and kissing.......bricks! The worst part of the race in Indy is usually the heat.....this year was much cooler than in years past though.
