We are planning a trip right now over the holidays 12/19-12-25 .... seriously didn't realize how much cheaper it would be to go beginning of December😲 makes me want to reschedule LOL

Once the reservations open for 2024 I am going to book another trip & trying to figure a good time that hopefully a lot of rides arent down for refurbs.

We like the Christmas decorations but not so much with the crowds. So we end up going in January for the most part. But then again, who doesn't like DL every month of the year

I am not looking forward to the crowds but the idea of seeing it snow after the fireworks makes me tear up even thinking about it. I was able to go as a kid when 4 years old on Christmas Day & it is something even at 40 it is something I fondly look back on.

Historically, many refurbs seemed to happen in the "off season" like between New Years and Spring Break. But then this year there were a lot in June so who knows these days!

For weather and crowd reasons, I really like late January/early February. But June is nice because typically most rides are open and it's not as hot as late summer/Fall. And then I like early December for Christmas decorations even though it's more crowded than other times of the year.

Have you experienced a lot of rides down in late January/February? It was funny when I told my husband the difference in prices from early December to when we were going he was like....um we just can SAY it is Christmas!?! 🤣 We really wanted to go May/June this year but had something come up that made it just not possible.

I haven't gone during January/February that much in recent years. But in 2015 there was a LOT down in early February. Including a lack of entertainment. This year we also went in early February and Toon Town was still closed plus Indiana Jones and a few others. But honestly....it seems like there's no set schedule for things getting refurbished. Except for when they put up/take down overlays at It's a Small World and the Haunted Mansion.

There also doesn't seem like much of an "off season" anymore with them putting on so many events throughout the year. So I think they just squeeze in refurbishments whenever they can. Or whenever they are absolutely needed.

When we go in early December, we consider it a "Christmas trip" since all of the decorations and things are up in the parks.

I agree it totally IS a Christmas trip! I should look into switching the dates LOL I was kind of looking forward to missing out on all of the back and forth we do over Christmas with being out of town.... which I know that makes me a terrible person

I go with my sister every year, usually right after Candlelight weekend. This year we're going Dec 7-11. It is just so magical to go in the holiday season and it's not as crowded or expensive if you go before schools are out. We fly down so it's also a little less crazy at the airports.

what are crowd levels like in June??? Also, is it still warm enough for pool time? I am looking to plan my first ever DL trip with my kids in 2025 and I have no idea when to go or where to begin. We just have to go before September 30th because my son turns 10 and we are trying to avoid paying adult prices for him! lol

June has summer crowds but it's hard for me to really comment on wait times or anything because we use DAS for our son so it's not a massive issue for us. And I can really only comment on the months I've gone in recent years....so June 2022 and February 2023. June was more crowded than February.

Early June has Grad Nites which can make crowds worse, I've heard.

We've always gone in early June. Not too hot but good enough temperature to escape for a swim around 3pm before returning for evening fun. You do have to be mindful of Grad Nites and rides being down. Usually if it's a long term refurbishment, it won't reopen until late June. We've had Pirates down when we were there before which was a bummer. We've never found June to be too crazy as far as crowds.

We've gone for a weekend in October so we could do the old Mickey's Halloween Party. We also went the week of a Christmas because we always wanted to wake up and go to Disney on Christmas morning. The crowds were definitely greater at those times. If you can go around the first of December, you should have a great time. The holiday overlays are great and you can still ride the Nightmare Before Christmas version of Haunted Mansion as well as the holiday themed It's a Small World.

We think on our next trip, we may opt for July or later in June. We're going to wait for Tiana's ride to open though so that might be 2025.

This some dates I was REALLY looking at and almost booked or I should say changed our reservations too. The prices at the DLH for the 2 bedroom suite was pretty much the same but the GCH 1 bedroom is like $400-500 less! Do you find the crowds to be a lot different during those times verse the week before Christmas.

We love going the 3rd or 4th week of August. Lower crowds but the downside is that Haunted Mansion is almost always closed for the overlay.

Early November, usually the first week after the Christmas decorations are up is a pretty mellow time, crowds aren't bad and weather is perfect, warm but not hot during the day and nice and chilly in the evening
