image.jpeg All.Of.It!!! Seriously we loved it all! Castaway was a huge hit with our family. We biked, snorkeled, swam with stingrays, and climbed all over the play sets. We also played mini golf each night and even skipped shows to watch the movies on funnel vision.

Our first sea morning...getting up early, grabbing my coffee and standing at the railing on deck 9 as the sun comes up, watching the ocean go by. Total peace and relaxation...
Seeing the pure joy on my daughter's face whenever she sees Pluto, priceless.

Sitting out on our veranda the last night while our 2 year old DS passed around a glow stick we had gotten in the FE so we could all take turns making the stars with his magic wand.

One of my favorite moments is sitting at Cabanas the first day with a plate full of lamb chops, yummy!

It's a toss up between going super jeeping across a glacier just outside of Reykjavik or going inside the 5000 year old Maes Howe tomb in Kirkwall. Memories of a lifetime!

These are all great stories and like others, it's hard to pick out just one. Here's a couple.... last September, we did a Halloween cruise. My wife and I brought costumes, she was Belle and I was a prince. We took part in the adult costume party (didn't win) and on the way back to our room after the party, my wife was approached by several children wanting to meet "Belle". So sweet. The other moment was on our first cruise, waking up at Castaway Cay on our starboard side veranda room and seeing the island for the first time. It took our breath away

Sitting in the lawn chair style beach chairs, in the water at Castaway Cay, at Serenity Bay. The water and air temperature were about the same (mid-upper 70s), and we were sipping pina colladas. At 10 am. It was so incredibly peaceful and perfect.

Our last cruise we were travelling with DCL newbies, one of whom told our server that he loved the Crème brûlée so much that he could eat 4 more of them. I joked with him that he should be careful saying something like that, because they would bring him that many. Sure enough, a few minutes later our server appeared with a tray covered with Crème brûlée, and placed them all in front of my friend. And yes... he ate them all. :rotfl2:

Walking into the lobby on embarkation and having one of the youth counsellors spot us and scream in delight and give me and my daughter absolutely MASSIVE hugs. It was just wonderful to 'be home'.

We had so many youth counsellors and servers and cruise staff remember us from our cruise the year before, and it was just lovely. One of the cruise staff spotted us from the stage at the Sail Away party and waved at us, a server who we saw at the character breakfast asked where my mum and sister were (they'd been on the last cruise with us), a number of youth counsellors were excited to see my daughter, one of the Fairy Godmother In Training staff was in the nursery last time we cruised, and she was excited to see our son and how much he'd grown.

The other magical part of the cruise was seeing my son in his first Friendship Rocks show - he was just beaming being up on stage with all the other kids.

For me personally two things really stand out. Getting a Mickey plate at the Disney Jr. breakfast. I don't know why but it really tickled me. The other was sitting in my float with a drink in my hand at Castaway Cay. Most people had gone to lunch and I was nearly the only person in the water. Vacation defined.

My kids were constantly smiling during the trip. There was not a moment they weren't so very happy. It was the best thing we've ever done as a family. They needed a vacation just as much as I did.

Last month we celebrated my birthday on the Dream. DH surprised me and had the cabin decorated. I was so shocked I started to cry, which alarmed my 3.5 y/o DS. I told him, "sometimes grown ups cry because they are happy." Later that night, we met Mickey Mouse, whom he adores. Afterwards, he started to cry. I asked him if everything was ok and he said, "mommy, sometimes little boys cry because they are happy." Worth every penny.

Great thread idea! Really enjoying reading these and loving all the the special family moments. We sail on our 10th in 4 weeks so have a ton of special moments but a couple of arriving at CC stories.
  • First cruise we were the very first to hit family beach and the kids did not wait for us to get settled and just took off to the water and came out with plastic figures of Dis characters they found in the water with grins from ear to ear.
  • When kids were around 12 & 10 while waiting for the tram they saw others walking and decided that they could not wait and had to make sure "Dad has a hammock" and they took off and ran all the way to family beach. When we got there they had a spot all set for us (back when beach had hammock, umbrella chairs stations on the beach)

Priceless!
