What is your favorite moderate? Feel free to comment why :)

It is really hard for me to compare The Cabins at FW with the others. It is just so different. I adore the cabins, but they are such a different experience from any of the other Disney-feel moderates. For a true Disney-feel moderate where I plan to spend a lot of times in the parks, then I have to go with POR. I just love the landscaping, the layout, the theming, the music, the DTD boats, the RRs, and the Riverside Mill. However, if I want a vacation where I am spending lots of time at the resort, I would go with FW. The bunk beds, the bike riding, the horses, the beach fireworks, the campfire, the deck, the peace and quiet . . . Really feels like the perfect campground.

Also, it makes a big difference whether my husband goes. On an all-girls trip with my kids and my mom, (which I take more often than a family trip), I prefer POR because I don't want to feel isolated. With my husband, the cabins give us some privacy and I don't mind being so isolated.

I have to say POR! I've never done another moderate, but I loved the layout, the feel, Yee-Haw Bob, Riverside Mills, etc. When I stayed at POR in 2013 I looked at all of the moderates and POR was the only MOD that spoke to me! I was please with my choice and for now, unless I go Deluxe I can't imagine staying anywhere else as far as Mod's are concerned.

For full disclosure, the only moderate we've stayed at is POFQ! But we just got back from our third visit there and absolutely loved it once again. We've walked through POR and it's just way too big. It's beautiful, but big. At POFQ there's nothing that's more than a 5-minute leisurely walk away. There's ONE bus stop. That means you get on the bus and you leave for the park. The transportation is amazing. On the rare occasion that we have had to share a bus with POR, we've realized that there's no way we want to make 4 stops every single time we get on a bus. And my understanding is that all the other mods do the same thing. The staff at POFQ is amazing--always friendly, helpful, etc. The food court is very good. I've heard the criticism that there's no sit-down restaurant at POFQ but I've never thought twice about it! I mean how often would you eat at the same place anyway? Yes, there's only one pool but it's very nice. If you really want to try something different, you can stroll down to POR and use their pool and other amenities.

But to me the best part is just how peaceful and quaint it feels there. I love the parks and all the excitement that goes along with them. But there's something just relaxing about heading back to a resort that's so small and quiet at the end of the day.

We have only stayed at CBR but it is the one that appeals to us most. We are a family of 5 so between CBR, POR and the Cabins, CBR's theme appealed to us more than the others. I did not like the Alligator Bayou section at POR, which is where the rooms to accommodate 5 are. That is the main reason we will never stay at POR. We just love the Tropical feel of CBR. we stayed in the Jamaica section and that is our favorite. The decor was nice and updated. The food court always had an abundance of seating, the staff was always cleaning and there was a nice selection of food. The pool was amazing and our kids enjoyed the slides.

Having stayed at all of the moderates, Riverside is by far my favorite and the one resort where I feel like I am in the disney bubble! From the grounds to the rooms, it is just beautiful! My favorite rooms are the royal guest rooms. The food court is the best, even out of the values and mods. It is more spread out and a few years ago I would have said POFQ was my favorite for its small size, but I just don't get that feeling at FQ that I get at Riverside.

We have never been to Coronado Springs or Fort Wilderness Cabins. Of the other three that we have stayed at I really liked the POR resort. This will be the FIRST resort that we will be returning to next year, up until then we have always stayed somewhere new just to try something new. Love the theme of POR, the river walk which is a short one to POFQ, the boat to DTD or POFQ if you don't want to walk, took the horse drawn carriage ride our last stay and will do that again if it's offered. We were in the mansions and are hoping to stay in Alligator Bayou. That's different isn't it?

Have only stayed POR and CBR but are making our way thru the moderates, next up CSR in couple months!
Absolutely love the grounds of POR, preferred CBRs pool. Voted for POR for transportation and food court- IMHO CBR bus stops were just too much for us... Probably because we were normally the last ones off.

French Quarter is my favorite mod, and we have stayed at all of them. I love the small size, one bus stop, and the grounds. It never feels crowded at the pool or the food court. We always find a seat on the bus, and the boat to DTD is so nice. The only downside is that there is only one pool, and the slide is small for older kids. It would be nice to have a sit down restaurant too, and I'm not fond of some of the decor in the food court, but other than that it is our "home" resort.

Stayed at CBR, POR and CSR. LOVE CBR!!!!! Tolerate POR. Despise CSR.

DH and I have stayed at all of the moderates but the cabins and my favorite is Riverside. DH's favorite is French Quarter. I love Riverside because of the ambiance of the resort. The resort music and the cricket chirps on the bus ride home just call my name for some reason. The pool is great and the bar at the pool is a great place to get a drink. We always request a room in the mansions because of the location. Plus, we got engaged there so it will always be my favorite because of that! DH loves French Quarter because of it's compact size and it only having 1 bus stop. We've stayed at Riverside twice and French Quarter once but will be back at French Quarter in October. Maybe we'll see then which one is really our favorite?!

POR is my favorite. I love the mansions area - and I love the boat to DTD. I also like how big the store and food court are.

I couldn't get in there for my October trip so I'm trying CSR solo. Hopefully I'll like it there too.

POR, stayed there twice. I absolutely love it and would stay there every time but I like to try other places as well. POR has a very good food court in my opinion, great theming, a good pool, and a hidden gem in YeeHaw Bob as entertainment.

The only one I've ever stayed at is CSR (only WDW I've ever stayed at period), and that was for three nights almost 17 years ago. I fell in love with it and seriously hated to leave.
Fast forward to planning our epic return to The Mouse, and I decided to try CBR instead. Booked it back in July.
Last night I caved and switched to CSR. The decision has made me so euphoric! I'm going back!
I think I love the resort for the very things some find less appealing. I like that it's less "Disneyesque" and that it caters to people who might not be on the property to visit the parks (convention folks). I like the large size, love the food choices (Pepper Market is so cool!), and found the atmosphere of the resort to be much more posh than I was expecting for the money. The standard rooms are...well...hotel rooms, but the decor is classy. The main pool is impressive, and the quiet pools are nice. There are two table service restaurants also, plus the Siestas Cantina by the main pool serves hot breakfasts and lunches.
The buses were always reliably frequent too.
Oh, and I love Mexican food, so that's a plus.

We'll see if I'm still as in love with it after March.
