What is your favorite moderate Disney hotel and why? I am planning a 1-year anniversary trip in October and want to pick the best one!

My family loves to stay at Port Orleans. The only drawback is the buses in the evening are always so crowded:mad: We are planning on going down to Disney during Thanksgiving but I am afraid that we might have to cancel if our financial situation doesn't improve::sad1: I do not want to have to charge our stay:rotfl:

I love the Caribbean Beach. The rooms are large and comfortable and I love the tropical theme. We stayed there when I was pregnant and I loved laying in the hammock by the beach.

We have only stayed at CBR and POFQ but we love POFQ. The rooms, size of resort, boat to DD, food court, and pool are awesome. We have stayed 4 times.

We've stayed at CBR and CSR and prefer CBR. We just love the tropical feel and find it very relaxing.

I would go for POR. It has a great main pool and several smaller quiet pools to choose from, lush landscaping, a great food court, a TS restaurant, beautiful walkways with lovely fountains, and the boat to DTD for more restaurants and great shopping. If you stay at the mansions section, then you have all of the romance of the Old South to boot! ;)

Definitely CSR! Our kids love the main pool area because of the playground, arcade, slide and snack bar. The CM's are terrific and the atmosphere of CSR is fantastic! :thumbsup2

I've stayed at all the moderate resorts. We keep going back to POFQ because of the theming, size, location (boat to DTD), decor of the rooms. But, I also like CBR & CSR very much, they are just too spread out for me. I lived in Arizona a few years, so when we stayed at CSR last December that was a real treat! I would be happy staying at any of them really.
One more thing I really like about POFQ is the location and setting for the hot tub. :)

We've only stayed at one of the four--CSR (six times and soon to be seven). If we were to choose another, POFQ is very nice and it is small. We do not like the POR very much and do not like the CAR at all--don't like the color/theme, no elevators and did not like food court at all.

We stayed at POR on our honeymoon - then it was called Dixie Landings. We loved it, but it was only about 6 months old then. Not sure how it is now. Also, we didn't have kids so we didn't check out the pool or anything like that. We loved the boat ride down to Downtown Disney.

I have stayed at all of them, and enjoyed them all, but CBR is my favorite. We enjoyed the lush, tropical theming, the lake has hammocks that are great for watching Illuminations, the rooms are the largest and the whole place just made me feel like I didn't even want to go to the parks. We also enjoyed the food court and Shutters for meals. I can't wait to see the new pool area in June!

POR in the mansion section is my favorite. The nice shaded walkways, being able to walk over to the French Quarter and get counter service over there, the boat to DTD, and just the relaxing atmosphere is what I love. I have stayed at POR, CSR, and CBR.

I like POFQ for the small size also. First bus stop. I've stayed at all 4, POR and CBR are a close second. Really didn't like CSR.

Our favorite is the POFQ - we like it mainly because it is small and you can't get lost too easily as with the other resorts. My children love the pool and the kids playground. I like the jacuzzi and the food court, this was the second hotel we stayed at (CBR was the first) and we loved the way we were treated by the CMs, the few problems we have had have always been quickly resolved. Another reason is because it is close to EPCOT and we take our dog with us and it is a quick drive to and from the kennel.

Second would be CSR, followed by POR and last would be CBR.

CSR is a great mod resort. Awesome main pool area, transportation and food options. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Another vote for CSR! We love the pool, atmosphere, the CM's are friendly and its gorgeous at night when it is all lit up. It's very romantic! Take a stroll around the lake, grab a sit on the hammocks...perfect!

I did not care for POR, or really POFQ all that much. Of the two, I'd pick POFQ by far. POFQ has cute theming and is compact. It also has a boat to DTD, and IS probably the most romantic. I didn't care for the food court all that much.

I like SCR maybe best due to great food court and relatively uncrowded buses.

BUT....If you will be there after September 15th, I think, CBR will have a brand new pool!!!! It looks like it's going to be really cool. But maybe it's geared more for kids....So maybe not as much for you if you don't have kids.

I thought busing at POR was the pits. Plus our romo was a long walk to anything. A better room location might have helped my feelings onthis resort.

CSR has the best food, but the food is more expensive. You also get partial table service. It is a good deal if you choose DDP.

It's beena few years since I stayed at any mod. Early 2006 was my most recent stay in one. All the mods have slow busing, IMO. Last year we tried Pop for a change and are going back this fall.
