We are taking our son for his first trip over his 5th Birthday. Looking for a fun/good breakfast on our second MK day, which is also his birthday. We don't need to be in the park super early since we will have also done MVMCP as well. Focused on a fun filled awesome Disney day!

For your 5yo, I think Chef Mickey's is the best bet.

Chef Mickey's takes a lot of slack. People feel that the food isn't the greatest, but I think that's mostly dinner. We went last October. We were with my cousins and their little ones (so it was a must). We're all pretty harsh critics for food, and we all really enjoyed breakfast. The pancakes were especially good. It's also one of the few places to see the Fab 5 all in one place.

I agree. I think Chef Mickey's would be the best choice, it should be a fun and memorable experience for him.

We have always only done breakfast at CM's and have been pleased. I was leaning towards that or Ohana. But we're staying at the Contemporary so this would be oh so easy!

I have some friends that just took their two DS (5 and 6) to Ohana and they had a fantastic time. They love Stitch, so this was amazing for them.

We enjoy breakfast at the Wave, but for a 5yr old it will not be fun.

We've done CM, Ohana and 1900 Park Fare, my favorite is Ohana, least favorite is CM however I would say CM would probably be a great breakfast for a 5yo. I would say go with the place that has the characters your son loves most. We prefer Ohaha since you don't have to get up and peruse a buffet and I think the atmosphere is more relaxed and not as loud. It's still fun for kids as they do a parade for the kids that the participate in but it's just a little lower key than CM. The Contemporary is just loud given the nature of the design, no way around it. But the breakfast isn't bad, just not our speed. 1900 might be a miss based on the characters for your son so I'd skip that but I think either Ohana or CM is a great choice.

I would vote either CM or 1900 PF - if you want Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, got with 1900. if you want the Fab 5 go with CM

I would go with Ohana. We like CMs and I get the convenience factor, but we love Ohana as it's one of our favorites for breakfast. Plus the Poly is somewhat convenient as it's just 2 monorail stops from the CR :).

If you want something a little different and don't mind that it's not a character meal, I would consider taking the boat from Contemporary to WL and eating at Whispering Canyon. Get the skillet! The antics there are so fun! Servers are funny and they do a lot of fun things - make sure to ask for ketchup!

For a 5 year-old, it’s Chef Mickey’s all the way!

I love 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. The characters are usually Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter. It’s not the worst line-up for a little boy, but for a 5th birthday celebration, it’s gotta be Mickey and Friends! :earsboy: :earsgirl: pluto:

We too almost didn't go to Chef Mickey's because we read bad reviews but we went for our DD's 21st birthday and loved it. We were a party of 10 and did a late breakfast which turned into lunch while we were there. Everything was very good and our DD and friends loved the characters. We too were staying at the CR - it was so easy. We also love 1900 PF and Whispering Canyon Cafe. Have fun where ever you go!

I second that!

I have only done Whispering Canyon for Breakfast. The food was good and the CMs' antics are a riot.
