We're taking the grandchildren to WDW - based on their ages (4 and 2) we figure counter service will be our best bet for food. They are just too active to sit through a table service meal and we don't want to put ourselves or others through that!!

So -- what's your favorite counter service in MK and surrounding area and why?

Thanks

Columbia Harbour House by far! The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is cool. Can get a little crazy right around traditional mealtimes, but upstairs is quieter.

I also love Columbia Harbour House! We love sitting upstairs and looking out over the park. It's very relaxing! We also love checking out the pictures on the walls.

The food is unique as well. We don't get the CS "feel" when we eat here.

I also have an allergy and the allergy friendly chicken fingers are found here so I love it even more! :goodvibes

I love Cosmic Rays, mainly because of all the choices and the atmosphere and the toppings bar. I love their veggie burger and I can top it with lots of goodies! We go early for lunch or supper because it does get crowded.

I can never get anyone to go to Columbia Harbor House, guess I am gonna have to just go in on my own this year!

Cosmc Rays in tomorrowLand & the burger place in FrontierLand Pecos Bills we like both of those.

Columbia Harbor House. The food is great and we like the upstairs seating. It's also a great option when you're suffering from "bun burn-out."

Columbia Harbor House is our favorite, but the kids might like Pecos Bills or Cosmic Ray's better. We love all three of them. We also like the hot dogs at Casey's Corner, but the seating is a bit sparse if you want to stay in the AC. Good luck and have fun!

Columbia Harbor House! I love their fish & chips, especially when I'm tired of burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. You can sit upstairs and it's nice and peaceful!

Pecos Bill's is a close second! They have good cheeseburgers and an extensive topping bar with cheese dip for your fries! Yummm. The pulled pork sandwich and taco salad are good too!

Cosmic Rays :thumbsup2 More variety. Ate at Columbia Harbor House and didn't care for my greasy platter at all.

I had the best sandwich at Columbia Harbor House! It was hummus on whole grain bread. SOOO good. It's definitely on my list for CS next time.

Pecos Bill's is ok - I've always found it uncomfortably crowded

I do like the food at Cosmic Rays, but also can be very crowded

Columbia Harbor House the food is good and the seating ample and spread out.

Cosmic Rays is one of the best in MK. We like that you can sit outside and see the castle and its got plenty of selections. We always go at odd times so we normally have no problem finding tables.

We liked Pinocchio's in Fantasy land, the meatball subs were big enough to split.

If you are heading to DTD Wolf Gang Pucks in the market place end is a CS place where you order the food at the counter but they bring it to you like a TS place. Good food and good value.

We also like the upstairs at CHH. Cosmic Ray's is fine but it does seem a more hectic place.

I just want to take a moment & say, "Thank YOU! :thumbsup2"

It is so awesome of you to be thinking not only of the small ones, but other patrons. We can recommend places all day,& actually probably will. :rotfl2: But you might want to check out the menus. That way you'll know if it's appealing to all. IJS.

Thank you --what a nice thing to say!! We've been to WDW many times and have seen way too many unhappy children and parents trying to get through TS meals - it's no fun for anyone!!

We've looked at the menus and have suggested DD and DSIL do the same, but they tend to be spontaneous versus DH and me who are planners. So I'm just trying to get our ducks in a row and have a better knowledge of what's there and perhaps what to avoid.

We'll be staying at BLT so we can always head back to the room for lunch.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and opinions -- it's very helpful...

Yea I'll have to say Columbia Harbor House is my favorite. It seems like less people know about it than any other QS location... it's almost hidden. I love the fish and chips and also had the lobster roll last time. It's a great change of pace than the normal burger place.

I also like Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's... they both have burgers but Cosmic Ray's also has roasted chicken and bbq ribs if you rather eat something like that.

The only other big QS location I can think of is Pinoccio's Village Haus which has pizza and other things... the salad there was good!

I have yet to try Casey's since it's so crowded, but the hot dogs there look great!
