Favorite memory of closed restaurants

so many changes going on

heres a place to share your favorite memory of a place that is no longer with us, a requiem, if you will

wolfgang Puck Express
our very first trip was in 1998. I had an airline credit from a bad business trip, first ever too, and we decided Disney! We stayed at Dixie landings 💕 for 5 nights. We were so so new and there was so little internet info.
anyway, we were on a very tight budget. We had dinner the first night at pucks. Omg! We loved it here. Barbecue chicken sandwich. We went back too. Good food at a decent price w the bonus of taking the boat! Loved that trip and pucks became a staple for every trip
I just heard about WPE! Hands down, our favorite. I am so happy we decided to go when we were at WDW a few weeks ago. Great food and service, I love the butternut squash soup. I remember back in the day when we would pull up on our way home, grab a spot in the lot and get a great lunch to end our WDW trip. The buses used to drop off in that area so they had a lot more traffic. With the way parking is now, they couldn't have been hidden away further from potential customers. There were only two other tables when we were there at dinner time a few weeks ago. Yes the food and service was impeccable.

Your post reminded me how much I miss Spoodles, it’s predecessor. Now that was an awesome breakfast buffet!
That breakfast buffet at Spoodles was incredible! We really miss that place. Kouzzina was pretty good too, but nothing beat the Spoodles breakfast buffet.

I'm dating myself here but does anyone remember the buffet at The Trophy Room at The Golf Resort (now Shades of Green)? I can't remember if it was there or The Village that had amazing tin roof sundaes. We would stuff ourselves silly 3x a day on The Gold Key plan.

Never ate there but it was supposedly a favorite restaurant of the Walt Disney World executives. At some point, the name was changed to the Garden Gallery, probably after the resort was renamed The Disney Inn.

Melvin the Moose - We tried out the Melvin the Moose character breakfast at Fort Wilderness. We weren't sure about it going in but we ended up loving it. This was in the 80's!

Someone else who remembers Melvin the Moose. We loved that show-probably even better than Hoop de Doo, which was in the same place. I can still remember when we all had to yell, "Wake up, you silly moose!" And all the kids got kazoos. I remember one year, afterwards when we took the bus back to our Trailer Home (now, they're called "FW Cabins"), the bus driver came on the intercom and told all the kids to be sure to keep the kazoos in their pockets, not to play them. The poor guy had probably endured some interesting trips-kids and kazoos, not a good combination!

We did the Melvin the Moose meal in 1987- I believe I still have the flier that had the details and pricing and will try to hunt for it. We also stayed in what is now called the "cabins," though back then they were trailer homes without the log cabin trim. Good times!
