After hearing all the wonderful reviews about Tusker House over the past couple of months, my wife and I decided we want this to be our daughter's first character meal at Disney World!

Which meal does everyone prefer? We hear wonderful things about the breakfast menu, but we also do enjoy Boma, so we thought we would also enjoy lunch/dinner as well.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts!

Thanks so much!

We have done breakfast at both- Boma is my favorite breakfast, but the time we ate at TH I remember it being very, very good! I would pick a character breakfast at Tusker over the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's in a minute!

I've only had dinner at TH but it was amazing. Character interaction was stellar and the food.... oh! I loved it. There are lots of choices and the options are flavorful without being too adventurous. I could have just eaten the pita/hummus and cold salads and been happy. Salmon was fantastic.

I agree with @sbrown29 - go with literally ANY other character breakfast than Chef Mickey's. We're doing Boma breakfast in April. Not sure when your trip is, but I'll be sure to report back on my experiences from my trip.

It was our son's first WDW character meal too. We went to celebrate his first birthday, and it's become an annual tradition (going back to Tusker House soon to celebrate his fourth).

What you want to do is book a late breakfast, around 10:30ish. They switch over to lunch at 11, so you will be able to enjoy both breakfast and some lunch foods. They will still charge you the breakfast price.

We've only done Tusker House breakfast but it was the best buffet I've ever been to. We did it many years ago and skipped it to try other places. I'm pretty sure we are going to do it again next trip. AK just seems like such a "hard" park for us. It's a bit hotter than most parks, black top, hilly, rough terrain. We feel better eating a good hearty breakfast before or in the middle of touring.

We prefer lunch but only because we aren't big breakfast eaters. We are more interested in carved meats and interesting entrees than scrambled eggs and waffles!

We love dinner at TH! It's our only must-do character meal when we go to WDW.

We have only done breakfast there and we love it! We also love breakfast and dinner at Boma.

Ive only done breakfast and lunch and I prefer the lunch. On the breakfast items, they add a sweet African spice to almost everything. Im not a fan. Although there were only a limited amount of things at lunch that I liked, what I did have was delicious. Take what I just said with a grain of salt. Im a picky eater!

Boma Ive only had for Breakfast. LOVED it. Tons of options, made to order omelets and simba waffles :)

Never thought about trying Tusker House for lunch- may have to give it a try!

We went was part of the ROL package. We went to the park at opening and did the rides/shows. Lunch was a 2. We went back to our resort after lunch, went for a swim, showered and changed, got an ice cream at Beaches and Cream, then went back to AK for the show and had a FP for the safari after the show. Doing the safari in the dark was every cool! Lions were wide awake and roaming around. During the day they seems to always be napping! It was a great day.

I think lunch and dinner buffets are identical now. It’s just that we prefer having a light lunch when it’s super hot outside.
I agree. Only had lunch there for the ROL package when it first opened. Was wondering if dinner is the same. If so, Id book a dinner there. We usually skip lunch all together and have a big breakfast / dinner and snack in between.

I like going at late breakfast time, so we're guaranteed breakfast choices but can also eat lunch foods, as well.
