I love malasadas. Have eaten Leonard's and Champion on Oahu and Tex Drive-in on Hawaii.

I am making super bowl malasadas. My first attempt, wish me luck.

Cool!! Post a pic, a review, and--if successful--a recipe!! :) Good luck!!

Well they turned out pretty good. They are not much to look at but they taste good. The first batch I fried were way too big and I wasn't able to get all the inside done before they were done on the outside. After that I made them about an inch and a half by an inch and a half by a half inch thick. They fried up into balls.

I hate the iPhone and how it's pictures interact with Windows and browsers. For me atleast the pick shows correctly in windows explorer but is showing sideways in the browser. Oh well.

awesome! thats really cool and good for you. I think I am in the minority here but I really like the baby malasadas they have at Aulani. I dont like the egg-y-ness of the other more traditional ones.

There are no letters for the sound I am making.........yum!!! Are those covered in powdered sugar? Did you use a FryDaddy? (Are all these answers in that link?? Haha) They look great--thanks for sharing!!

Regular sugar on the outside. Just used a deep frying pan and a candy thermometer.

Straight out of the fryer, they were close. They did not age well at all and were not good the next day.

The life of them is disappointing but all the more reason to eat lots of them! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
