I read on the boards about someone that puts Tink PJs on their kids pillows on their first night in their hotel, after returning from park....what a cute extra-little something! I'm thinking about having a Disney cookie bouquet delivered to our hotel room for our arrival, for the kids.

Does anyone do anything else extra-special for either kids or husband during stay at WDW? Love to hear any cute and creative ideas...just to make it a little extra special! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Would you be willing to offer your source for ordering the Disney Cookie Bouquet? Thanks!! :flower:

1. Buy them personal "Guest of Honor" badges...they look just like CM's badges but with your children's names..wear them and be amazed at how many call your children by name and the kids forget they have them on! Pretty neat. You can search on these boards for places to order

2. Have someone travelling before you (query the resorts board) send your children a post card from Mickey saying how excited he is to know they're coming.

3. Get their haircut at the barbershop on Main street...fun glitter do's

4. If they're into pin trading, collect some pins and put them on their pillow each night

that's all I can think of right now....

I bought a Mickey Mouse pin that said "Best Behavior Award" and gave it to ds towards the end of our trip. Another little thing I lucked out with was asking for dh and ds to ride in the Conductors Car on the monorail. When I heard the horn honking I knew that was my son. DH and ds both loved it! I also made sure I requested certain tables when making PS arrangements and that all worked out. My family was so excited about all the little details I didn't skip when planning.

Imhall2000 - thanks for the great ideas!

Mommyrom - I've ordered Disney Cookie Bouquets at home (California) for new baby arrival for friends, from Cookies by Design. However, I believe that they have locations nationwide.

Any more great ideas to share?!

Haven't done it yet, but plan to ask as though DD gets a special invitation on her pillow the night before CRT... will not tell her about it until then. Along with the invitation (I'll make it ahead of time at home and just roll it like a scroll with ribbon tied around it) I'll have a box with her "new" princess dress and the trimmings that she should wear the next day. I think she'll fall for it, since she's just a little tike anyway (will be almost 3 at the time).

I LOVE the tink pjs on pillow idea by the way.. I will definitely be stealing that one!

Any other ideas??

In addition to my 7yr old girl, I've got a 9yr and 12yr old boy and 14yr old girl....that I also need ideas for. The little girls are easy to please with all of the princesses items.....

so, what's anyone got for boys?! and older girls?

THANKS! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

This strays a bit from the ideas here, but the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party might be fun for the younger girls (under 7 or 8 I'd say -- possibly for boys too) -- the Pirate Cruise departing from GF or the new Albatross Cruise departing from YC and going into Epcot would be fun for girls and boys. As for costume-y type stuff for boys... my 3yo LOVED donning the Pirate Mickey Hat and sword he got from the POTC gift shop... He sported them every day and spontaneously put on "shows" as he fought imaginary bad guys, "I'll save you mommy, b/c you're the princess!" Was always the beginning line!

I haven't done this but I guess in MGM somewhere and in Epcot (at Figment I believe), there are ways you can make some fun and funky photos... these might be more fun and appropriate for older kids to have as keepsakes. I read about them here so someone's got to have more info on them!

If you're staying at a DW resort, ask for a wake up call from a disney character (make sure your little one answers the phone). Costumes boys might like are Aladdin, Peter Pan, or Captain Hook. Leave little gifts (with a note from his favorite character) in the hotel room for your return. Or maybe the hotel staff would deliver it to him if you ask nicely. I've heard that kids get extra attention from characters when they wear clothes with those characters on them. Maybe restaurant servers would "send" your child a special dessert from a beloved character (if you include a note from the character for the server and slip it to him/her to pass on). Friendly, outgoing children may get selected to pull the sword from the stone at the MK (this happens several times a day). I'm keeping a close eye on this thread to get more ideas about maximousing the magic for my 4 year old son, thanks for starting it.

For the past two trips I've packed some "bath dye" tablets and bath confetti. When it was time for DS's bath, we'd run the water, and then DH would distract him for a minute while I dropped the bath dye in the tub, then sprinkled the confetti on the top of the water.

When DS went into the bathroom, he was delighted to find that Tinkerbell had sprinkled pixie dust in his bath water!

I'm planning on doing this again for our upcoming trip, but I'm pretty sure he'll be onto me this time. ;)

Thanks for starting this thread - I'm loving the ideas so far and look forward to hearing more :) I love the PJ's idea!

Its been a few weeks, but the Disney store had long pj's on clearance for $7.99!

MM is leaving us a basket to welcome us and "get us started". There will be GOH badges, autograph books, pens and for my DS (9) who is getting to the older side of the magic, a pressed penny collection book and some shiny pennies (and quarters to pay for the pressing). I am also surprising him with a PS to Sci Fi which he saw in a guide book and thought looked "sweet".

They don't know about any of our PS's--so every morning, Tink is going to slip an invitation under our hotel room door along with some pixie dust--to invite them to their special magic for the day.

I lOVE the bath confetti idea for DD who thinks baths are totally princess-y!

I would also appreciate any other suggestions to make our trip as special for DS as for DD--you moms of older boys know what I mean!

Thanks for the pjs idea, i have been wanting a few pairs on disney direct but couldn't think of an occasion to justify the purchase, maybe I will wait and give them to my boys when we get down there in May, they have incredibles, power rangers, and buzz lightyear.

I already ordered all 3 of mine new pgs. My ds loved the pirate cruise. We are going to the cp. and are trying to come up with some surprises they can spring on dh. They like the idea of surpising him. The only thing we have come up with is espn club. I love the pin on the pillow idea. I ordered post cards from the place where you can get gob to be sent to the kids at home from their fav. characters. Id love to hear more ideas too.
