I was flipping through channels and saw a hot dog thing on the Travel Channel and was wondering what is your favorite hot dog places.

I will add mine:
Rutt's Hut (Actually on the show I was watching)-Really Old Place
Hot Dog House(Little place with the greatest fries)-from the 80's

I thought it would be cool hearing where and how old the place is.

The only way you could get me to eat a hotdog would be at gunpoint.

In my area it HAS to be Teds Hot Dogs. That place is busy even in the summer when you can grill your own hot dogs.

Portillos in the Chicago area- Not just for dogs but for itailan beefs too!

Not a hot dog fan myself, but my Dh and kids would vote for Gray's Papaya in new york City.

My husband and I used to go to Rutt's Hut all the time! Haven't been there in years and years :sad1: .

There was another hot dog place that I used to stop at in Jersey when I worked in Passaic. It wasn't in Passaic though, I can't remembe the name of the place or the town. I remember it was really good though!

Growing up in Ohio we went to a place called Hotdog Heaven.

...um, ok, well there was this place we called the "hot dog stand" in my hometown growing up...we'd get chili dogs and 7-up...it was pretty cheap, too...I haven't had one of those in years...

Superdog in Chicago! They are sooooo good! The first time we went there, we called for directions and talked to the owner. He was the nicest man and so thrilled that we saw them on the travel channel. :)

Mel's hotdogs in Tampa. I still have the t-shirt emblazoned with "you may already be a weiner" on the back!!!

Even though I live so close to Coney Island I have only been there once. I was on a class trip to go to the aquarium. But I have gone to other Nathan's in malls.

:thumbsup2 Portillos!! I also like Don's Hot Dogs in the SW suburbs.

(Also Johnnies and Al's for Italian Beefs)

I forgot about Superdog! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

"“Your Superdawg lounges inside contentedly cushioned in Superfries, comfortably attired in mustard, relish, onion, pickle, and hot pepper.”

Actually I can see it from my house but I have to drive about a half mile to go over a bridge to get to it. I can't wait until the spring to go after baseball games to eat hotdogs. Thank God I play a lot of sports because I would not be able to survive with eating all of these things.

Gene & Jude's in Chicago. Greasy fresh made fries that you put in with the dog. OMG they are good!!!!

Yup, Nathan's. :thumbsup2

In our area we have Hot Dog King and there are 2 different locations owned by brothers. I don't eat that stuff anymore, but their food was good.

All of these places sound really good. I really wish I could go there atleast once
