Favorite Horror movies

I am a hardcore horror movie Fan..Italian Horro,Gialoa,Argento Fulci,Bav..Japanese horror etc..Or are we talking mainstream *scream, I know what you did last summer, horror?

to me Horror will always be classified as Psycho.......that shook me up so much that I didn't go out at night after dark.....and all the students at Bates College had that sign in their windows.....Bates Motel......

Also Birds ....see Alfred Hitchcock knew how to scare you without it being gross or with monsters

Which would be why I'm a dario Argento fan... The italian Hitchcock,as he has been dubbed

I love all the campy old horror movies like Dracula starring Bela Lugosi, and Wolfman starring Lon Chaney. Those old movies were great just for the over-acting and bad dialogue! Don't care for the newer rip 'em up stuff.

I don't see how people can be frightened by Hitchcock. I find his movies boring. Perhaps it is because I am a child of the 80's and 90's and I'm used to Freddy, Jason, etc.

My favourite off the top of my head is The Others starring Nicole Kidman-I watched it in the theatre with only one other person in attendance. It freaked me out-I nearly had to leave!

Prince of Darkness was super scary to me. The images were the kind that stuck in my head long after the movie was over.

I think the key is in your post..You are a child of the 70's and 80's..Like I am,and while I can appreciate Hitchcock,he doesn't scare me

I like the psychological horror movies too and this one ranked right up there for me. We rented it on DVD and as soon as it was over, my daughter and I watched it again.

Actually, I like just about all horror movies and there have been only a few that I think have been a total waste of my time.

I really liked The Ring and The Ring 2 too.

The Steelers' game will probably turn into a nightmare for me tomorrow. LOL Not that I think they'll lose so much, but I fear I'll have many incidents where I'm just short of a heart attack!

Hae you seen Ringu? The original japanese movie.Or Ju ON the original Grudge? They are much better than the American version.
I like the others because it was a good movie and becaue it had the New Doctor Who in it

well seeing I am a child of the sixties ..(I know OLD)....I was horrified by these films......the monsters and guts and having freddie or whatever .......those are scarey but the unknown is just as bad....wondering and worrying ......we used to go to the movies for 25 cents on sundays and watch the blob and frankenstein......they were scarey back then but these were classics...Good thing we all don't like the same films or we would never get into the theaters......they would always be packed and long lines

The ones I own are the sf/horror/suspense type like Alien and The Thing. You know, alien creature from another planet knocks off everybody on an isolated spaceship/outpost one by one... EXCEPT the plucky sole survivor who manages to finally blow it to smithereens.

I love all Horror movies, my favorite is Maschera del demonio, La (Black Sunday) Directed by Mario Bava. This movie scared me sooooo much.

Plot Summary:
A vengeful witch and her fiendish servant return from the grave and begin a bloody campaign to possess the body of the witch's beautiful look-alike descendant. Only the girl's brother and a handsome doctor stand in her way.

Do you ever see "Tarantula" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048696/

Since we are talking horror...my favorite is Vampires and Werewolves.
So if I had to pick my favorite horror movie...

"Interview with a Vampire"

Although I did enjoy "Constantine" recently, it just cannot compare.

It's great, there was a line in the Movie STARE INTO THESE EYES...I would give my younger sister an evil look and say the line from the movie and she would start to cry...I can just start saying it now years later and she get's all flustered telling me to STOP. Yes I love that movie.
