In honor of my favorite holiday ever (yes, to me it beats Christmas) I would love to know your favorite scary, spooky, grab-your-sweetie-and-pull em-close, movie. The one that gives you chills every time and makes you sleep with the light on! :scared1:

I can't do horror movies, so I'm gonna be safe & say my favorites are "The Nightmare before Christmas", "Earnest Scared Stupid" & "A Garfield Halloween" :teeth:

I, too, don't do scary movies! :earseek:

So, I'd have to say that the Peanuts Halloween special is about as wild as I get!! :rotfl:

Am I the only scary movie fan here?!

BTW, scary doesn't always equal gross. For example the "Friday the 13th" movies were very gruesome with lots of blood and that doesn't scare me as much as gross me out. "Signs" on the other hand I thought was very scary and had no blood in it. Left more to your imagination.

Anyone else love the theme from the "halloween" movies with Jamie Lee Curtis? I love that so much I have it as my ring tone on my cell phone. Gives me the chills every time!

Our tradition is the Charlie Brown Halloween (or all others in that series)
Nightmare Before Christmas, the Addams Family & The Addams Family Values

Wag The Dog!

Jean

When I was younger I loved this movie called "The Worst Witch". It was about a private school for witches. I think Tim Curry was in it! If anyone knows if it is going to be on sometime, let me know!

No momma, you are not the only one. I LOVE horror movies, and yep, love the gorey ones too! I also have Halloween as my ring tone. Love it!

As for the original question, it's gotta be the original Halloween!

I love horror movies...new ones or old ones. Give me a vampire, zombie, mummy, alien or slasher. I watch them all!

My favorite is Halloween, closely followed by the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I made my sister watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers when she was little and it scared her so bad that she slept with me until I went to college.

not scary, but Nightmare Before Christmas. My favorite movie. It is a christmas/halloween movie. :goodvibes

I just saw THE worst Halloween movies ever. Satan's Little Helper and Jack-o-Lantern. There is over three hours of my life that I will NEVER get back :rotfl2: As for favorites? Gotta go with the original Halloween. It has also become a tradition with the kids and I to watch the series of Halloweentown movies.

Where did you see Satans little helper? I agree with you, it was pretty bad, but my dd's friend had a part in it so we went to the Tribeca film festival on opening night. There were all these famous people there viewing the film. We were excited to see our little friend up on the "big screen" for her first film. Hopefully one day when she is famous, they won't be able to dig that one up!

Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Poltergeist
Omen

My favorite is Rosemary's Baby. If I want something a little lighter, I love Young Frankenstein. I also love It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Disney's The adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I have all of these on DVD and will be watching them this weekend in celebration of Halloween.

Poltergeist
Scream series
Scary Movie series(more mindless fun)
Rocky Horror Picture Show
House on Haunted Hill

My favorite movie to scare me is "The Changeling" with George C Scott. You never see the ghost, it's just suspensefully scary!!!
Love to watch "The Blair Witch Project" Of course, it is scary. But the best part is that people actually believed that it was true. :rotfl:

There's certain movies we try to watch on or around every Halloween. They include:

Halloween
The Fog
Lost Voyage
The Haunting (original version)
Salem's Lot (the mini-series)

Those are the biggies for us.
