What are your favorite games to play in line? My kids will be 9 and close to 8 when we go, but I'd love to hear about fun for all ages!

I downloaded the kid version of Heads Up on my phone, and it was the best $.99 I spent on vacation. We had kids in line around us playing. Several parents asked about it, because it kept my 4yo occupied the entire time we were in line. We had fun with it too, so it was a win all around. Some of the categories are too advanced for 4, so I would think they would be perfect for older kids.

Perfect! I'll do that right now so I don't forget.

I believe there is a Disney-centric set of questions for it too since I've seen people in line playing that. It might help keep everyone in the Disney spirit.

I play the stand quietly game in line, but I'm usually alone so it works.

Just make sure you have a good backup battery. I have used this one during the last two trips. It gives me 3 full charges on my phone which is more than enough for each day.

We watched a family playing Heads Up whilst we were stuck in the FP+ queue for FEA when it was having a malfunction. They had a lot of fun, and we enjoyed watching it a lot...

Favourite moment: (Dad guessing)
Mum: It's a really awful film!
Dad: INDEPENDENCE DAY!

He was totally wrong, but we were so tickled that that was his go-to bad film... we all had a good laugh about it when we got chatting a couple of minutes later!

HAHAHA! That is so funny. Also, I love the word "whilst."

Another +1 for the Heads Up app! My DH and I played it in line and we frequently had a small audience of kids and adults watching as we played. As a PP said, there's a special Disney deck that you can unlock by turning on location services to prove that you're currently inside one of the parks. It was great to help pass the time and because it was Disney, our clues were often "It's the park we're in right now!" or "We just got off this ride!"

Heads up. I highly recommend downloading the Disney Parks deck. I believe there is a way to get it free if you are on property. It is so much fun to play it while you are at WDW. You can give clues like, "We rode it yesterday in the rain." My younger DD even had CMs giving her clues while we waited in lines. She's only 4, but she still was able to guess a lot of attractions. She knows her WDW.

DS and I have been known to play "who stepped on a duck?"

We play the "hometown" game, spotting people in line who look like people you know back home. No need to charge your cell phone battery.

We play the alphabet game. The first person has to think of a Disney character that starts with A , the next player has to come up with a Disney character that starts with B, etc. Hint: The only letter you have to skip is X.

"He who smelt it"

Have you ever played before?

How you play is: If you smell a fart you get a point. If you say who dealt it...double points. If you say you smell a fart and no one farted you lose a point. And you can't smell your own farts and get points. You can even play one on one.

I know what you're thinking, if you're playing one on one and you smell a fart and you didn't do it isn't it obvious it was dealt by the other player?

Hey, I thought you said you never played before....

Top Trumps !
A really simple card game that comes in a ton of different topics. We have just bought 2 Harry Potter ones to bring on our next trip. You can even make your own pack (which I am in the process of doing for Christmas!)
The boys play while waiting for the bus, on the bus, in lines, in restaurants - nice quiet game and small enough to carry in a pocket!!
