I'm looking for suggestion for some fun family activities to do in the evenings- both on or off-site. Since this will be our first off-site trip we will be much more inclined to try new things. We are not purchasing hopper passes this time around because we just haven't used them in the past. So our plan is to visit a park each day at rope drop and head back to our resort in the late afternoon for a rest. We'll head out again at dinner time after our batteries are recharged.

So far, we will go to the MK one evening for Wishes, but we'll probably skip Illuminations this time. From what I understand, Fantasmic might be in refurb mode during our Jan. trip, so we can't count on that. And DH would rather have a root canal than see the Hoop Dee Doo! We don't really have an interest in any of the other dinner shows. That leads me to off-site things.

DS loves Dave & Busters and I know there's a new one on International Drive, so that's an option. Even though we have one here in town, we never go and it's special treat for the kids. That's about all I've come up with!

If it helps, our boys will be 8 and 4 at the time of travel and are pretty easy to please. I realize I didn't say where we're staying. That's because I haven't decided yet! :confused3 Our travel dates are Jan. 1-8, and we're leaning heavily to WBC, Sheraton Vistana Villias or HBC.

Please share your family's favorite evening activities in the area. :)

Thanks!!

Stayed at Sheraton Vistana this summer and it was pretty good. Our room was REALLY nice and spacious, quiet and relaxing. I was surprised at how much there was to do at night at the resort for self and kids Of course, it was sumer, not January but maybe there will be more or same....

Lots to do at Downtown Disney. Go get ice cream at Ghirardeli's, do some people watching, great shopping too.

Thanks! Since we're going in Jan. I am thinking our options may be more limited. DTD is a definite, and I think we'll check out the Boardwalk since we've never been there. Has anyone been to the campfire sing a long with Chip & Dale? Is it worth the trip over to FW?

You know every time we go we say we want to do the campfire thing but we just can never find the time!

One thing we did this trip was play mini golf at Blizzard Beach Summer/Winter course. We did the Winter course since it was warm when we were there! I'd like to try the other course next time we are down or the Fantasia Golf looked fun as well.
