Whats everyones favorite restaurant at Epcot.
We have reservations at Chefs de France. Anyone here have any stories good or bad from there?

I have eaten at the Nine Dragons Restaurant in China and the Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom and they were both fabulous.

Le Cellier, but I've heard Chef's de France is fantastic! I might try to go there on our next trip.

Our favorites are The Biergarten, Nine Dragons, & San Angel Inn. The only two we don't like & will in all likelihood never go back to are Les Chefs de France, and Akershus. I've eaten at Teppen Edo & really enjoyed it. My DH "thinks" he is not into Japanese cuisine, and has never tried it. He doesn't know what he's missing.

I can't make a recommendation for Via Napoli because it just opened & we haven't been there yet. I miss the old "Alfredo's" restaurant.

No matter which restaurants you choose to visit, try to make reservations well in advance. Since the inception of the Disney Dining Plan, walk up service is very hard to get - even during the lax times of the day.

Bon Appetit!

We love the "counter service" at Norway. Large and wonderful sandwiches. You could share 1 and be full. Mexico is great for the atmosphere - okay on food and Canada.

For QS:
Tangierine cafe
fish & chips (blanking on the name)
Sunshine Seasons - might be the best food court @ WDW (although we haven't tried the much-lauded Pepper Market yet)

We ate at Chefs a couple of years ago. It was quite loud in there, but we enjoyed the food. This year we're trying Bistro de Paris upstairs - can't wait!

Rose & Crown was decent.
Restaurant Marrakesh we find to be hit or miss, but it's usually a walk up in Nov/Dec.

Tried like crazy to get an ADR for leCellier for November, but so far no luck, and I'm gonna try today to get one for the new Via Napoli - which so far has been getting good initial reviews.

For Table Service: I've done Chef's de France on a couple trips, once for lunch and another time for dinner. Dinner was better than lunch, the lunch menu was very limited but it was one of the few places that had a walk up availability. Like someone else said its kind of loud, but I like the people watching through the big windows, and you get to meet Chef Remy. They bring him around on a food cart.

LeCeller is my favorite but its not easy to get a reservation there, I've never been able to have dinner there, only lunch. Teppan Edo is real good and my second choice to LeCeller, its much easier to get a reservation and the hibatchi grill dinners are consistently good. Mexico has a nice ambiance, but the food was only ok. Rose and crown is good if you like UK food, I'm a fish and chips guy. Speaking of Rose and Crown its my favorite place to drink in Epcot, gotta love the atmosphere and piano players, shout out to the "Hat Lady" haha.

I liked China but haven't been since they re-did it a year or two ago. I'm looking forward to Via Napoli and the new Mexican place, they sound great!

I couldn't agree with you more about the Tangerine Cafe! Definitely one of our fav quick-service places in all of DW!

The Rose and Crown is the restaurant that you're thinking of that serves fish and chips.

Again, I totally agree! We've been very satisfied with the selections that we've tried at Sunshine Seasons. Their rotisserie chicken meal is really good. This place can get crazy busy though!

Le Cellier was definitely good, but ridiculously difficult to get a ressie. We've tried it, and now we know what it's all about. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Biergarten! I was an exchange student as a teen and the german food and atmosphere bring back great memories!

Chefs is very good and it's a pretty restaurant, but it is also crowded and noisy. We had a great time at the Biergarten this past trip - the food was really good and the entertainment was great. I also like Coral Reef.

The only bad meal I've had at Epcot was at the Marrakesh, the TS in Morocco.

Well....I'm in a recipe sharing kind of mood and thought I'd share one of the most popular dishes served in all of Epcot. Yes, I'm talking about the one, the only......

LeCellier Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup!!

1/2 pound bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium red onion, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
3 celery ribs, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
4 tablespoons butter (no margarine)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken stock
4 cups whole milk
3/4 pound sharp white cheddar cheese (grated)
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt, and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1/2 cup warm beer
Chopped scallions of chives, for garnish

1. In a 4-5 quart Dutch oven, cook the bacon, stirring over medium heat about 5 minutes - or until lightly browned.

2. Add the red onion, celery, butter, and saute' until the onion has softened, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 4 minutes over medium heat. Whisk in the chicken stock and bring to a boil for 1 minute. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Add the milk and continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Do not boil after you add the milk.

5. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese, Tabasco, Worcestershire, and salt and pepper, stir until the cheese is melted and the soup is smooth. Add the beer. If the soup is too thick for your liking, you can thin it down by adding more WARM milk - a little at a time. Ladle the soup into your favorite soup bowl or mug and garnish with the scallions or chives.

There you have it!! Now, don your toques and aprons, and start cooking!

We love going to the Biergarten. You are able to sit there and enjoy the entertainment at your own pace...
And who doesn't love the Chicken Dance!

Ate at le Cellar last trip with the wife. I think it is over rated, although the soup is pretty good, being from the midwest, the steaks left something to be desired.

We also ate at the Moroccan sit down place. If I recall there was a sampler platter or plate and BELLY DANCERS!!!:worship: It was real good food.

This last family trip, DW DD6, DS2 DD .9 at upstairs at the French restaurant. Not that we wanted to, but it was available. Upstairs is more formal, and pretty much the same menu, the kids did a great job and service was outstanding. The wine starts at about $40 or $50 a bottle.

Since they relaxed the dress code enforcement so much at V&As several years ago, our favorite is Bistro which is a more formal and subdued restaurant upstairs from Chefs de France. It also has great Illuminations viewing from some of the window tables.

I heard a lot about Le Cellier and we finally ate there after avoiding it for over 20 years a year or so ago and I was under impressed and didn't even care for either the bread sticks or chedder cheese soup. Now this was for lunch and we just had sandwiches since no way will I pay for Filet Mignon when I can fix it better on a grill for like 1/4 to 1/3 the price of what you pay at a regular restaurant.
