Trying to decide what would be a good choice for a dinner entree at LeCellier. We will be on the dining plan so price is not an issue. It looks like there are 2 filets to choose from. Which one do you recommend? Or something else??

TIA!!

Depends on your taste. Do you like a hint of tang from bbq sauce (it's like a glaze not put on thick) or a more subtle flavor? My H ordered the mushroom one which was good but I prefered my bbq one cause it didn't seem as bland as his and that's what I was in the mood for. Also I loved the potatoes that came with mine and didn't really care for the risotto that came with his, but I don't care for pasta much. They were both really good and tender, just depends what your preferences & mood are when you order.

My favorite entree was at lunch, and according to allearsnet, is only available for lunch and not dinner--Pan Seared Beef Tips served over citrus basil risotto with grilled asparagus and finished with lemon beurre blanc. YUM!

I got the petit filet for lunch it was so good, there was no fat and very flavorful. It's not on the dinner menu but the 7oz. filet mignon sounds a lot like it, Maybe just a little bigger.

My DH had the 7oz. filet mignon and I had the mushroom filet mignon. They were both really good!!!

I believe I had the filet, but my absoulte favorite is the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup.

i even bought the Disney cookbook to make it at home - it's not the same though, but YUM! :bounce:

I had both during our trip a couple of weeks ago (3 different nights--not that hungry). My favorite would have to be the 7oz filet (with maple sauce?). I don't care for the potatoes, so usually will subsitute a vegie. The mushroom one was just OK, like the other one better.

I really enjoyed the cheese soup and the mushroom filet, the mushroom risotto it comes with is really amazing. Mushrooms are a kind of love it or hate it food... I'm in the love catagory and this dish is a must for mushroom lovers. Yumm, wish I could have it for lunch today!

Two of our party ordered the NY Strip Steak and really liked it. Me, my father and youngest brother ordered the filet mignon and thought it was excellent. Later on we all really liked Rose & Crown, but those who ordered the strip steak thought Rose & Crown was the best meal of the trip. Those of us who ordered the filet mignon voted Le Cellier the best meal of the trip with Rose & Crown second.

I think it was the greatest steak I have ever had in my life. That all by itself makes me long to go back to WDW!

DH and I had the filets which were great, but their cream cheese mashed potatoes were heavenly! And their pretzel bread and their creme brulee. It's a full course yummy meal.

Thanks so much for all the help.........makes me even more excited for our upcoming trip!!

When I was there 3 weeks ago, I got the 7 oz filet and ask for the sauce on the side (didn't use it). It was very good. Got the kids "moose" dessert.

I am in love with the filet. It is so good. I really want to try the mushroom filet but you know what they say.... If it ain't broke don't fix it!

If you like mushrooms at all, go for the mushroom filet. I agree with FigmentKid; it's amazing. It was definitely our best meal at WDW, and 3 of us had the mush. filet. Cheddar cheese soup, pretzel bread....can't wait til August!! Last time we were there, two of us got a surf n turf special (filet & lobs. tail)....it was fantastic. Haven't heard of it being offered lately, tho.

On our last visit DH had the mushroom filet, and I had the filet with the bbq sauce and the cream cheese potatoes. They were both good, but we liked mine a little better. I think you can't go wrong with either one.

Now, for what I think is the BEST filet on the property, head to CA Grill for the tamarin filet. It is heavenly! :thumbsup2
