So I am perfectly happy with the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, and I particularly enjoyed when they converted the Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta into a Mexican food restaurant (probably my favorite in park Mexican food experience), but I was wondering what the Dis chatterati would have to say about this subject. Specifically, if you've gone on a Disneyland vacation, what has been your favorite Mexican food experience (locals, feel free to point us in the right direction)?

My response, the Sabroso! Mexican Grill
13129 Harbor Blvd
Garden Grove, CA 92843

This place is in a strip mall and took us a couple passes to find, but I had one of the best meals in my life there last year. We went there with a yelp recommendation and were just blown away. As a life long Mexican food lover, I will tell you, if you love Mexican food, you want to eat here.

$5 All you can eat Taco Tuesday down the street...

Steak
Chicken
Carnitas
Al pastor
Fish

Chips and Salsa bar too

Oh yes, the tamale breakfast at Flo's V8 café was entirely decent. The salsa verde was quite tasty.

If you are not already aware, rancho del zocalo in frontierland is almost the same as Cocina Cucamonga, with a few menu differences. Never been disappointed by it and prices not horrible.

We really like Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney. The mahi mahi tacos are en pointe and the combo meals are quite filling.

Inside the park, we preferred Rancho Del Zocalo over Cocina Cucamonga. The offerings were more plentiful and the food had more flavor.

I've always wanted to try Zocalo because of the outdoor seating near Big Thunder. But DL seems to have other food options that my family prefers. I usually do the Mexican thing at DCA. That's where I can get it, and my family can get Chinese. As for really really good Mexican, I wouldn't expect to find it outside of the Valley. They really know how to do it here.

I hope eveyone's Monday is as good as mine's about to be. Margarita Monday!

Cheers! :)

It's a bit of a trek from Disneyland but we had an excellent Mexican meal at Casa Martin in Santa Monica. Seriously tasty food, heat when you wanted it but not through the dish. And the best ever house 'rita I have ever had, though it did cost more than $2...

They are a lot of famous Mexican food places to try in Los Angeles. My favorite is home but they are so many that I've tried and enjoyed like... Tito's Tacos and El Abajeno in West LA and El Tepeyac which is in East LA and home to the famous Manuel Special Burrito. I can go on and on but I would suggest if you are staying near Disney search Yelp to find something local to that area.

Please go on and on:D Seriously, I'd like to read about your experiences. E.g., what is in the Manuel Special Burrito? Just out of curiosity, have you been to the Sabroso Mexican Grill? And if so, how does that compare to the other restaurants you've mentioned?

My favorite Mexican (Tex-Mex, really) closed years ago. Los Castillos in Westminster. Growing up in Garden Grove we frequented it several times a month. After we moved, we would go anytime we went to Disneyland (on first night). I was sad when we went the last time (14 - 15 years ago) and it was closed.

The Manuel Special Burrito is the largest burrito I had ever seen and can feed between two and four people. Unfortunately the price for this burrito is $24 but I remember when it was like $10. They have all sorts of other traditional Mexican food as well. I have never been to Sabroso Mexican Grill but looking at the menu and the Yelp reviews I'm tempted and might have to take a little trip. I also like that fact that Guy Fieri also visited this place. Considering that they are in Southern California they are lots of great Mexican restaurants and I think if you use Yelp as your guide you will do just fine.

Super-Mex. They have them in Cypress- which is only 5 miles from the DLR, HB, and Long Beach. Amazing!

Run! Don't walk there and let me know what you think. Then let me know of comparable restaurants that you know of:D
