KADIR - he has got to be the hardest working CM on the Magic. We were a group of 29 on the 4/26 Western and met Kadir - or as we called him "Mr. Turk" on our first day. He was serving drinks up by the Quiet Cove pool. What a great guy - he brought us one of his walkie talkies so we could page him if we needed anything and brought up his cooler for us each day filled with ice to keep beers/soda cold and ready for us when wanted. He also always brought us over plates of fruit/chicken fingers/french fries, etc.

Kadir went above and beyond.....a really special guy!! We loved him!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Just home from the May 10 Magic, and wanted to add a few of our favs-

Our server was Julijano- he has been mentioned earlier in this thread- is close to finishing up his time on the ship. But he and our asst. server, Deneval, were both great.

Tommy- at the DVC desk. He was the one who first got us hooked up with the DVC when we bought it a year before. Then he turns up on our cruise- a year later- the first time we used our DVC points! It was a funny coincidence- and we enjoyed talking to him again.

Best of all- the Dueling Piano guys- Jeff and Chris. Being our first cruise, we had never heard Fedelio, but we certainly enjoyed these two and the fun time we had with them each evening.

The Dueling Piano guys keep showing up! Have to check them out next time!!!

We'll meet you there, Joanna!

Has anyone else noticed that whatever John does for the cruise, it becomes a BIG hit on the DISboards?!

Hey recent cruisers (Hi, MJ!) what I want to know is......who's running the 50s,60s,70s & 80s theme nights?....any of the other CMs who were so wonderful last year?......

Another question.....should we request one of the wonderful servers that are mentioned on this thread before our cruise? Or is it better to just wait and see because that are typically so fantastic?

What do you think?

I only request a server/assistant server I've already had and became partial to. One of my projects this year with Michael is he will "interview"CM's from different countries and get his autograph book signed by them. Just a simple little exercise in learning about other countries, speaking with people who have accents and realizing that there is a lot to learn from others.

Rae

rae, that's an interesting idea. It's be neat to see how many different countries he is able to get.
On our first cruise we had Gabby from India , and my son LOVED him. Last year he was home when we cruised. Glenn was our waiter-nice, but very serious, and Navneet, the asst, was great--would love to have him again. My family really liked Zouhaier, the head waiter, he did a lot of extra things for the teens and we hope to have him again.
the CM work soo hard and always seem to be happy and smiling. Our room steward last year, Fermin, said he had a 2 yr old at home-how difficult to never see your family.

Just back from the !8 May Wonder trip and wanted to mention:

Ary (Thailand) - our Server and fantastic, so enthusiastic and always smiling - we loved him

Yolande (South Africa) - Assistant Server, never let my glass go empty and she was so sweet and helpful and again so friendly.

Dessy - Can't remember where she was from but she was lovely she was one of the servers in the Cadillac Lounge and we loved her.

Tony Payne (USA) - new pianist in the Cadillac Lounge, fantastic pianist great lounge singer, used to play the MGM in Las Vegas, I hope he gets lots of good comments and gets to stay - he's earning his ears at the moment.

Johnny (South Africa) - Hairdresser, very cheeky and funny great personality - he made me laugh whilst I was having my hair done.

All in all we had some great CM's look after us, it was my first time cruising and I just can't wait to go back, hopefully the Magic next time.

Just back from the 5/17 cruise and met some of our favorite CM's again and missed some others.

I was looking all over for Kadir (bar staff) as he has always been so good to us on our previous cruises but he was not there...hope he is just on vacation.

John is Bingo King with Andrea his Bingo Bunny. As funny as Robin was at Bingo, John adds his own humor to the game and the interaction between him and Andrea is very entertaining.

Raise your index finger, ready, set, go....excerise that finger to prevent any Bingo injuries. Push and fold, say it with me now...push and fold.

Green is the color of what????? Yes, Leeks the national vegetable of Wales and money.

Yellow is the color of what????? Yes, Daffodils the national flower of Wales and the color of snow you should not eat!!!!

Yeahhh Baaaaby!!! Corrrnerrr!!! Quack Quack!!!!

If anyone was at Bingo last week they will know what I am talking about!

My favorite Asst' Server Beckie from Canada was on vacation and we missed her by only 2 weeks. Did get to see our old Servers Girish, Gede, and does anyone remember DisneylandDarren (England) from the DIS....well, he is now a server onboard!!! He sailed as a guest on the 1/4/03 cruise and we talked to him quite awhile. He even booked for the following week while onboard! He has since gotten a job onboard and loves it. He is very entertaining in the dining room and all the servers appreciate his energy.

The band onboard was Sea Breeze....they did a fine job, though I still like the Johnny Danger Band the best.

Got to talk to Andrea much more this cruise and she is also one of the hardest working CM's on the cruise staff. Quentin is new to the cruise staff and he a doll. He is from South Africa and a real sweetie. Sean has moved to a shore excursions position. Ian has left for good and so has April and Robin. DJLA is on vacation. Andy, Jodie and DJ Dan are also new to the cruise staff and seem very nice as well. There was also a blond guy who just got onboard 5/17 but I forget his name. It looked like he might be another new DJ or something. A whole new cast of main stage performers seemed to be onboard. We saw them throughout the week. Someone said they are to start the replacement soon of the current main stage performers.

Andrea hosted 80's night, John hosted 70's night, and I forget who hosted 50's night (maybe Luigi) but most of the cruise staff was at each theme night. Quentin hosted Match Your Mate and Luigi was the mean Pirate Captain at Walk the Plank. John hosted the deck parties and also hosted the "Till We Meet Again" thing in the Atrium on the last night. Unfortunately we heard from someone that he is leaving DCL for good in about 3 weeks or so.

So, that's the wrap up!!! I promise I will post a full trip report soon (with pics!).

MJ

Thx for the update MJ! Wow great story about DisneyDarren! I wonder how he likes it as a job!!!

MJ,

Thanks so much for your CM update. Your detailed posts make me feel like I was right there with you!! I can't wait to see your pics, and full trip report!

Thx to all for the excellent updates!!!

Ok, has anyone else heard from DisneyDarren about his new job?

I think it's so neat that he pursued his dream!!

So....any recent cruisers want to share their favorites?????:Pinkbounc :jester: :Pinkbounc :jester: :Pinkbounc

Sorry all, but we just got back from the 5/24 cruise & Jeff & Chris are now no longer playing together.

Jeff's last night was Friday 5/30 & Chris's is 6/13.

Good news however, Chris will be playing at the piano bar at the Boardwalk & Chris may come back to the ship to play in one of the bands.

I agree it is a shame, as we were at almost every show & had a great time!

... also my vote for favorite cast member goes to Sylvester, our server from India. He was great with the kids & adults.

Am I the only one who DIDN'T like Rishi as a server? I found him to be TOO pushy. LOVED Dennis as his asst though!

Bring back Dueling Pianos!

Did you mean to say Jeff will be at Boardwalk and Chris may come back in one of the bands?
