Favorite Crew Member?

bearfan.....we had the opportunity to attend some of the Adult Scavanger hunt (last few minutes).....it was held in Rockin Bar D on the 1/4 Magic.

It was pretty funny....I had always heard about it but never saw it before. I am sure I missed a bunch of good stuff...when we walked in men were wearing their wives bras and high heels!!!

That must have been hysterical!!!
I'll have to remember when DH and I go to make sure I wear a sexy red one and spikey heels!

Sad to say that Dueling Piano's may not last. Why Disney moniters them so much is beyond me. We went to the Travolta & Gaynor lip sync contest and it was soooooooooooo much more racy as far as smut humor than piano's has been. I talked with Fidelio during the cruise alot and the best thing to do is get in touch with the cruise line and write letters to the Magics Cruise Director, Jim directly. He said there was rumors that they want to put the ESPN Sport Bar in the Off-Beat and turn the present ESPN into a teen disco. Whether this is true or not I do not know but any letters will help, this I know for sure. Because Disney wants to keep the paying clients happy. I will try to get the address and post it.

Have a Disney Day!!1

I would hate to see them eliminate Dueling Pianos also, for the same reason as Rae - it appealed to all of us. We only went to the Family show and the performers were Greg & Julie (I think) and they were a riot. My DD got on stage a couple of times and had the best time. I think I'll go ahead and write a letter.

Thanks dianedisney for the info - and I definitely agree with mcnuss - the Dueling Pianos takes a lot of talent AND personality along with monitoring the audience for their reactions.

Please let us know if you or anyone has the address because I'm definitely going to get a letter out.

Fidelio better be there for our May 3 cruise because DS will be heartbroken. I am enlarging the picture of him with Fidelio so he can get it signed. We tried to do that last year with the Captain but the dear man had gone by the next cruise. I forget his name but he was a very sweet and gentle man who was excellent with children and made a great impression on my son.

dianedisney....I had also heard that on the 1/4 cruise...that they want to put a teen disco where ESPN is now and move ESPN to Off Beat.

What they used to have on the Magic before Dueling Pianos which was hysterical.....was the comedy improv show. It was just like "Who's Line is it Anywhere" with Drew Carey.

They had four or five improve comedians and they did different skits and songs. It was really, really funny. These people were so talented to think off the cuff like that. We really miss that show. If you have ever been to the improv club on Pleasure Island at WDW you know what I am talking about.

I think DCL does need a teen disco to keep competitive with other cruise lines like Carnival and RCCL. Just don't know where would be the best place for it.

DCL must monitor the shows or at least react to specific complaints about them. One of the cruise staff was not allowed to host one of the shows for quite a long time due to a comment they made once during the show. I do not know if someone complained, or big brother DCL was listening....I was at the show and heard the comment which was very funny and fit the gist of the show. I was surprised to hear that especially after seeing the Adult Scavenger Hunt show last week.

Ok everyone, I got the address to send letters to DCL for Dueling Piano's:

Disney Cruise Vacations
Guest Communications
ATTN: Disney Magic
Cruise Director Jim
PO Box 10238
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0238

DCL confirmed that letters from previous cruisers is a BIG imput on acts staying or going. So, please write everyone if you love Dueling Piano's and want them to continue entertaining on board.

Thanks, Diane

Is there any way to find out at DCL who exactly to write to? I say this because on the 12/4 cruise we had Jackie as our cruise director, not Jim. He was on the Wonder at that time. I hope it doesn't turn out to be an ESPN sports bar. The few times I've been in there looking for sports drinks, it was so smokey, it was hard to see as well as breathe.
I admit that I am a bit biased, too though. Disney only shows games that are played on ESPN rather than all of the sports games on other channels. I realize that they own ESPN but that also own Fox, too now. That means, no Superbowl on board next week, it's on CBS!

LMS

The Superbowl will definately be shown next week onboard. It has been shown onboard for the last few years.

MJ

I hope they don't take it away! That is the most fun adult musicical entertainment onboard! We had a blast on both the Wonder and Magic....MORE fun than in Wavebands/Rockin Bar D!

In 01 it was Greg and James. In 03 it was Greg & someone else (don't remember his name off-hand).

These people have a TON of talent!

Thx, I'll definitely have to check it out next time!

Hey! Any Wonder or Magic sailors who had a phenomal time? Who made YOUR cruise EXTRA SPECIAL? Us snowbunnies need SOMETHING to survive the DEEP FREEZE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY! Help!!!

On the 11/02/02 Western, our favorites were Ian & Sean (They were everywhere!), Timmy (head server), and we had the pleasure of repeating with Georgio (assistant server), Erasmo (Palo and past main dining head server), and Daryl Lockhart (the pianist in Sessions). We met them on the 11/03/01 Eastern. They made for a truly Magic-al vacation. It was like being with old friends.

Fabulous! Sean is back from vacation? What special activities did you do with your favorite CMs?

Sean was our guide for a few shore excursions, and Ian had fun letting me know I wasn't energetic enough at the dance parties! There was also Robin. He and Ian and Sean were always together and they were everywhere! Every time we turned around! And always something up their sleeves! We didn't get to visit with Erasmo alot. That was the night I had my awful asthma attack (due to painting outside our room)! Erasmo was our head server in main dining on our 2001 cruise. Timmy was a very gracious server, seeing as we changed our rotation when we discovered that Georgio (previous cruise) was on and so he actually took on another table. Timmy did magic tricks all night and was amazing with people's children! Georgio was just a great and gracious person. He was paired with Timmy. Gemma was paired with Georgio on our 2001 cruise. She was due back a couple of weeks after our 11/02/02 cruise. If anybody has a chance, get in her rotation! She was fun as well. And Daryl Lockhart is amazing on the piano. We had the wonderful luck of running into him again on our 2002 cruise. He isn't actually a CM, but he is a big repeat performer. He told us that he really enjoys playing for Disney. It was great to meet new people and see familiar faces!

Sorry to be redundant but is Sean the guy from South Africa who ran the Bingo during my cruise? He was also the Nerd on 50s night. He was excellent at this and a great performer and a sweet guy. Thanks for sharing your cruise memories!

Thx MFK! I'm glad he is back...he's alot of fun!
