We will be arriving at WDW in a few weeks and I have made the necessary ADR's for the trip.. we have the dining plan.. so I was wondering... what are your favorite counter service restaurants in each park and why? Also, which ones are the best value for the dining plan, (most bang for your buck).. it will be me, DH, DD13,DD8 and DS6. Thanks for the help

I went for MK - Cosmic Ray's something for everyone.
AK- Flame Tree BBQ - good deal they had ribs
Epcot - Umbrella, was OK
HS - ate at the place next to Star Tours think it was called the backlot, was OK
DTD - Earl of Sandwich, good

Believe it or not we stayed at All Star Movies they had a really good menu in the food court. If you are staying on site check out the food court .

Best Counter Service:

MK: Cosmic Rays - Tomorrowland
DHS : Sunset Market - Near RnR and ToT
EPcot: Sunshine Seasons - in THe Land / FW
AK: Flame Tree

Hugs,

Mary

AK - Flame Tree BBQ

MK - Cosmic Ray's (The ribs & chicken combo is the best deal goin)

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (Great, fresh food, and a great selection that does not include burgers and fries.)

HS - This is not the most popular spot but we like Starring Rolls. They only serve lunch and have three choices (Ham/turkey sanwiches or a veggie pita (Very good and I am a big meat eater.) The sandwiches are huge and must have a half pound of meat on them. Plus we always look to avoid the typical burger and fry options.

I'll throw in Columbia Harbour House in MK. I personally LOVE the tuna sandwiches and DS enjoys the fried fish plus the restaurant has a nice quiet atmosphere which is hard to find at counter service places. The location is great too.

Sunshine Seasons is AWESOME and then you can go ride (if its open) Living with the Land and see how they grew most of the food they fed you!

We like most of the CS at MK, there are only like 2 choices for pizza in MK (Pinocchio house is one). I know because I spent 45 minutes SEARCHING ofr pizza for the kids one day.
at Ak we usually eat at either pizzafari (my kids love pizza), I have gotten them into ribs since our last trip so I might be able to convince them to go to Flame Tree this year (and I can hop over to Yak and Yeti)

as for HS, most of the CS is just ok. We usually eat at the backlot or ABC. They really need to do something about the food offerings at HS :headache:

another vote for Columbia Harbour House at MK
Sunshine Seasons at Epcot

Don't usually find much for CS at DS or AK.

WolfgangPuck Express at DTD is really good! The cream brule is worth the trip alone...

I guess my favorites are:

MK: Cosmic Ray's, Columbia House and Pecos Bill Cafe

Epcot: The Electric Umbrella and Liberty Inn

DHS: Pizzafari

AK: Catalina Eddie's and ABC Commissary

MK - Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbour House (we haven't tried Cosmic Ray's, yet)
Epcot - Fish & Chips from Yorkshire Fish Shop (UK), anything from Tangierine Cafe (Morocco)
DHS - haven't found anything good yet, though I was pleasantly surprised that Pizza Planet was pretty OK - this year we're leaving that park to eat
AK - Flame Tree BBQ

MK-PECOS BILL'S
AK-FLAME TREE BBQ
EPCOT-SUNSHINE SEASONS (Wide variety of food and all of it was good!)
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS-PIZZA PLANET (Food was o.k. kids love the arcade)
DOWNTOWN DISNEY-EARL OF SANDWICH

Of course, it really depends on what sort of food you like or are in the mood for. I have found that burgers, chicken nuggets, pizza, etc. Are relatively consistent between cs locations, so if that's what you want, you can probably pick anything. I like to go for the rstaurants that are a bit different ( though I am usually with my two young kids so burgers, nuggets and pizza are sometimes unavoidable!)

That said, my favorites are:

MK-Columbia Harbor House
Epcot-Sunshine Seasons, Yorkshire fish and chips and Tangerine Cafe,
DHS-I agree with most, not much of note in CS restaurants here
AK-Flame Tree Barbeque has always been my cave here, but I also really like the Yak and Yeti CS. Pizzafari is pretty good and the decor in here is well worth a visit!
DTD-Wolfgang Puck Express is, in my opinion, the best bang for your buck as far as CS restaurants are concerned. There is an excellent variety and the quality is great!

Enjoy!!

I agree with the op most of the cs hamburgers are the same as well as the pizza for me! I try to only eat 1 hamburger and pizza when we are there.

Mk- Columbia Harbor House=clam chowder, fish basket, tuna sandwich really good!
Pecos Bill- chicken wrap and taco salad
If you like hot dogs Casey's corner they are good size(cheapest meal you will have)
Epcot-Sunshine Season
Cantina de San Angel is always our favorite but will be closed when you are there due to there expansion
Lotus BlossumCafe- Egg rolls (this all we get)
Bakery in France- wonderful dessets they also have sandwiches
DHS-I really don't have any favorites but my DH likes the Turkey legs at Toluca he makes a meal off of that.
Studio Catering co has a pretty good chicken wrap, my mom liked the pulled pork sub!

STAY AWAY FROM ABC COMISSARY! YUK we have tried this several times thinking it will be better but never is!

Ak- I'm planing on the picnic in the park this time we have heard lots of good things about it!
We have eaten at Yak and the Yeti CS twice and have loved it! My DH and I split the shrimp lo mein and order of egg rolls.
Kids love pizzafari

Magic Kingdom - Cosmic Rays & Columbia Harbour House
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons
AK - Flame Tree BBQ
DHS - We never eat here anymore. The food has always been terrible.
Downtown Disney - Earl of Sandwich

Now you just made me crave Disney food.:rotfl2:

MK- Colombia Harbour House for the hummus and broccoli slaw.
Epcot- Tangierine Cafe for the sharwarma platters.
DHS- Nothing good here, but if we're here for lunch we'll just get a pizza and salad combo from Pizza Planet
AK- Yak n Yeti CS
DTD- Wolfgang Puck Express. Everything I've had here was so good!

our favorite cs meal was at pepper market at the coronado. There was different stations so everyone was happy the pizza was one of the best pizza's ever not like the cs meals at the parks yum

MK- Columbia Harbor House for food, Casey's Corner for atmosphere/entertainment (theres sometimes a piano player outside or we love to watch the old Mickey cartoons in the backroom)

AK- We usually do Pizzafari (convenient and the decor is great- esp. if you're searching for hidden Mickeys)

DHS- Starring Rolls

Epcot- Sunshine Seasons (for variety) or a brat in Germany

MK-Cosmic Rays
EP-Sunshine Seasons
AK-Flame Tree BBQ
HS-Starring Rolls

Starring Rolls is our favorite. The sandwiches are fresh and for one CS credit you get a sandwich, chips or fruit, drink, and an wonderful dessert from the bakery. The desserts are fresh and a huge!

We get there early and sit in from of the Brown Derby.

If you want burgers, the Backlot at DHS is really good. It's just like Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills at MK. I don't know why people bash DHS counter service- it's the same burgers, fries and chicken fingers that is served everywhere at WDW.
