Favorite Condiment?

It's like choosing a favorite child!!

I love a good mayo/ketchup/mustard mix for anything potato

A1 or Heinz 57 are fantastic for that, too.

Ranch is great for veggies, chicken, salads (but, I am so picky about my ranch....homemade is by far, the only one I think is acceptable, ha! Some restaurants can measure up, though! Has to be thinner, lots of dill)

And, for hot sauces..Tapatio and Cholulua are my faves.

Don't have a "once sauce fits all" item, but most common would be mayo. My friends sometimes refer to me as "Chairman Mayo.":earboy2:

I don't put it on everything but my favorite is mayo, I will eat mayo sandwiches with a little salt and black pepper.

I guess I'm not a big condiment person when I think about it. I'm not too fond of ranch, only use it to dip the occasional carrot or celery stick. Ketchup is good on fries and burgers but I don't eat those too often. I love deli mustard on sandwiches. The only time I use mayo is if I make tuna or deviled eggs, a few times a year maybe. Vinegar on fish, butter on toast or potatoes, tziki on greek, salsa on Mex. I guess I enjoy a wide variety of condiments in their specific circumstance. :)

Oh wait, I do like thousand island dressing on burgers, salads and Reuben sandwiches. Maybe that's my cross-over condiment.

Eating lunch & bored & thought I would start a fluff thread :)

Do you have a condiment that you put on everything?

For me its ranch dressing-everything tastes better with ranch dressing! Salad, chicken, raw or cooked veggies, turkey sandwiches, french fries, etc... My other go-to is hummus. I especially love to mix it with brown rice.

For my DH, its Tabasco sauce. & my 3 year old is a ketchup fiend.

Anyone else have a sauce or dressing that they put on everything?

Do you live in Olkahoma? We moved here 5 years ago, these people love their condiments! The lunch ladies in the elementary cafeterias walk around with squirt bottles of ranch! Lots of my teens' friends eat ranch on their pizza, they dip it. Local pizza places serve it with a side of ranch.

I love condiments of all kinds. My fridge is packed full of them. I'm not a huge ketchup fan. Love many kinds of mustard. We have lots of hot sauces, salsas, tempenade, mayo, salad dressings, etc. And I love ranch! But I don't use it on everything.

I hate ketchup, and don't miss mustard or mayo on a sandwich if it's not there (unless it's Jimmy Johns!), so no go-to condiment for me. I don't really like to dip stuff, either.

But FWIW, I absolutely HAVE to have dill pickle relish and Hellmans in my tuna salad or it just doesn't taste good.

This may, in all reality, be one of the most difficult questions anyone has ever asked me. Lol. We are condiment people. I follow a pretty particular diet and I use condiments to change things up.

Trader Joe's Green Dragon Hot Sauce, Chipotle ranch, homemade yum yum sauce, and Sticky Fingers Sweet Carolina BBQ sauce are all pretty high up on my list...I also love Balsamic glaze and Heinz 57.

We eat a lot of Asian food and I often times whip up a sauce with a tiny bit of sesame oil, hoisin, oyster, soy, rice wine vinegar, and copious amounts of sriracha. I put that on everything :rotfl:

No one specific condiment goes on everything; I like a variety of condiments on top of different foods. If I have to pick a favorite: honey mustard.

Younger DD put ketchup on practically everything. One of her old e-mail addresses/screen names was Ketchup Queen.
100% this^^. And I'm weirdly particular about which condiments go with what food. Ketchup on french fries and (flame away) steak, never on anything else. Sweet green relish on hotdogs or in tuna salad, never on a hamburger. No mustard on anything, ever (it's probably one of my least favourite flavours in existence), but some things do need it incorporated into the ingredients to taste right. Cranberries are a must with any kind of roasted poultry. Soy sauce must be added to anything at all with an Asian flavour profile. Mayo, honey and hot sauce are NOT condiments in my world - they are recipe ingredients only. And ranch dressing on anything other than a salad? I don't get it.

I haven't been able to find what I call Emerald Relish in a long time in my area. It's nuclear green and the glow is probably visible from outer space. I bought a jar last summer in Chicago but it's long gone.

Impossible to pick an actual favorite, since I like different ones on different things. For a hot dog it's mustard, ketchup, sweet onion and sometimes relish. For a hamburger I :love:an olive burger so just mayo and a ton of sliced green olives. For steak it has to be A1. I generally just use ketchup for fries, unless they are hand cut and made fresh then I like malt vinegar and salt. For dressings on a salad if I'm not caring about calories I choose Thousand Island, but if I'm making salad at home I like fat free Catalina, or the Walden Farms calorie free Ranch or Thousand Island.
