favorite cheap stroller

We are trying to wean our DD9 off the kids cart at WDW. But our DS6 seems to need it. We a resemi-commandos and like to stay at the park all day.

Now, I don't want to spend top dollar anymore on stroller rental, and I don't have a stroller of any kind anymore. Is there a good umbrella stroller that my DH can push? He is 6 feet tall and the regular ones make him hunch...not comfortable!

Any ideas?

We have the Graco Ipo Stroller. It was on sale for $79 when we bought it last fall before our trip. My Husband is 6 foot tall and has no problems pushing it as it's tall enough for him.

We had looked into a Chicco stroller as well (a bit cheaper than the Graco).

The best advice I have on finding one your hubby will be comfortable (and not have to hunch over) to push is go to Babies R Us, Walmart or Target and have him test drive them.

Test drive a Volo at BRU- it's by Maclaren and goes to 55 lbs. Then, if it works, go on line and buy one - they have last year's models for $69.99 free shipping on ebay, and at babye-store.com.

At BRU there is an umbrella with a sunshade for $20, we really like it and it is easy for my hubby to push. Also at WDW they sell a decent umbrella type for $40.

Test drive a Volo at BRU- it's by Maclaren and goes to 55 lbs. Then, if it works, go on line and buy one - they have last year's models for $69.99 free shipping on ebay, and at babye-store.com.

I have a Maclaren Quest which I loved for our 6 month old- up until now. He is almost 15 months (will be 16 for our June trip) and we are having a problem with the adjustable seat. If he leans forward or reaches upward the seat comes up to its upright position. I guess that there is no way to lock it in? Anyway I was wondering if the Volo locks into position? It is a whole different ballgame when your calm infant turns into an "I want to walk!!! toddler" hee hee

The stroller they sell in Disney World (red umbrella) for $40 is actually really nice. I would suggest not taking a stroller and letting your DS6 go. You might be surprised and he might make it without needing one. Worst case scenario is he really does need one and then you can buy the Disney one.

This could possibly save you some $$ and the hassle of dragging a stroller along that you might not need.

We shopped around for something also. We have a 4 yr old that prob wont need a stroller but a 10 month old that will. We decided that we didnt want to buy a double that we would never use...so we rented from orlando stroller rental, so that might be an option.

I'm sorry to say I don't have an answer for you- because the Volo doesn't recline. It's a great stroller for older kids though, b/c they don't need a recline. Why don't you write to Maclaren? Can't hurt to ask!

At age 6, I would think that it might be harder to find one that will fit your son more than your husband. Most strollers have weight limits of 40 lbs or less. If your son is tall even if he is under the weight limit he won't be comfortable in there either. I guess I would look carefully as to the stroller that also fits your son well. I know that my 4 year old niece has almost outgrown all the strollers we have, and she only weighs about 35 lbs.

I don't have a picture, but they sell them in the larger gift shops (ie Emporium, Mousegears, World of Disney, resort gift shops, etc).

We used the Evenflo XSport from Walmart. It was about $40.00 (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8072091). It comes in several different colors. It folded up easily, was big enough for my 5 year old and was really easy to steer. I think it's comparable to some of the pricier Maclaren's, etc. Definitely worth $40.00.

I was trying to figure out why I don't have this problem with my 18 month old, and then it hit me....his shoulder straps are adjusted so that they are a little loose on him. There's enough slack that allows him to lean forward and move around a bit, but the seat setting doesn't change. (of course, YMMV, if you have an escape artist loose straps may not work well).

Also, you could just let him stay in the upright seat position unless he's sleeping.
