Favorite character moments

I have two great moments. I can't decide which is my favorite.

Last April on my solo DCL trip, I stopped to have my pic taken with Donald. I stood next to him, ready for the flash from the photog. Suddenly instead of the expected flash, I had a beak covering my head! THEN came the flash. I now have a perfect picture of my head being engulfed by a duck's beak and a VERY shocked look on my face. I look absolutely horrible in the picture, but it IS my favorite pic anyway.

My other moment was during my first trip to WDW. It was a solo trip and I was dining at the Crystal Palace so that I could get my pic with my all my favs. When Tigger came by my table he sat himself down across from me and laid his paw on my hand. One of the servers took our picture that way. It wasn't until I got home and developed the pictures that I realized that Tigger and I looked like we were having a dinner date! I love that moment.

I started this thread and I just remembered another favorite moment. DH and I met Lilo & Stitch. Stitch is very intertaining. He took the hat (sweaty hat I may add) from the CM's head and put it on my DH. Then he stuck his claw in my ear and then put his claw in his mouth like he was eatting something from my ear. Gross, but really funny.

We took my DD to DL when she was about 5 years old. We were sitting on the curb watching the parade and it had slowed to a stop for a few minutes right in front of us. Aladdin and Jasmine were in the car directly in front of us. Well, Aladdin proceeded to flirt with my DD from the car--blowing her kisses while Jasmine kept nudging him in the ribs and pretending to be upset. It was hysterical! She's 13 now and we tease still about her first boyfriend--Aladdin!

I have two character moments to share. One, was when my mom took a picture of Dopey and I, she forgot to take the lens cap off the camera (or however you do that on a automatic camera), so when I went back to Dopey (lucky there wasn't any line), I told him that my mom was Dopey because she forgot to take the lens cap off, and he thought that was cute.

Second, when I met King Louie, I didn't realize till I got my pics back, that he was leaning his head on my boob. I got a giggle out of that when I saw it.

Oh yeah, back in 97, when my best friend and I were there, we were meeting Minnie, and I was getting her autograph, and on mine, she wrote that I had my finger covering the lens when I took the pic of Beth and her, so of course I had to retake the picture. I still have that picture of my finger, lol I was just looking at the photos from that trip.

From our trip report,

"We looked at our watch and it was time that Snow White should be out again. So--we zipped back to Germany. Whew--this place is big!! But the hurried walk paid off--Snow White and all of the dwarfs were out--what a treat. Jana got in line for Snow White and Emily chose to stand for some of the dwarfs. Russ was like a crazy person trying to catch everyone with the camera. :D

Right before us in line were some elderly people waiting. They got up there with Snow White and posed for numerous photos and lots of hugs and kisses. Some people behind us were grumbling about these “old people” taking up time when their kids wanted to see Snow White. (Don’t ya love parents like these?!) Anyway, I happen to overhear (accidently, I promise!) that these folks were the grandparents of the girl who played Snow White and this was the first time they had ever seen her in her role. There were some tears being shed by them as they stood quietly aside and watched her interact with the kids. You could just see their pride as they witnessed the admiration and wonder in the eyes of the kids talking with her. :) :) :) I’m sure I wasn’t supposed to hear the identity of these people, but it sure was touching and brought tears to my eyes."

My favorite moment was at CRT two years ago. My DD was 2 1/2 and amazed at the inside of the castle. Once we sat down, she sat backwards in her chair saying "I see Snow White, I see Cinderella, etc." A couple of princesses came by and she loved it! She hugged and kissed them all. When Cinderella came, she ran to her as Cinderella was bending down. My DD wanted to sit on her lap and ended up sitting on her dress. Cinderella kindly sat down on the floor with her big blue dress on and cuddled with DD for at least 5 minutes. They rubbed noses, hugged, and kissed each other on the cheek. It was sooooo sweet! It made the whole trip worth while!!!

Last time we were in Disney my son was 4 and he was Goofy for Halloween the year before. We brought a picture of him dressed as Goofy. When my son showed Goofy the picture, he was of course elated. He spent time, laying on the floor with my son, while signing the back of the picture, he played with him for much longer than the usual visit and really made my son feel special and connected to his Goofy-friend!

Oh--I love these!

My favorite from our trips happened as we were leaving AK. Jane was near the entrance to the park, and of course my 2 DDs had to get her autograph. She took my youngest's (3yo at the time) book and as she was opening it, flipped past the front where her name was written, very nonchalantly, of course. She then said, in her perfect British accent, "Why Olivia, I am so glad I got to see you today. I have been waiting and waiting." Of course, Olivia couldn't believe that Jane knew her name--how could that be? To which Jane replied, "Why, Mickey told me you were here. He said to be sure to watch for you!" She truly believed that Mickey and Jane had been talking about HER!

Looking forward to some more magical character moments . . .

this has been a blessing to read. I love the stories everyone shares-some are funny!! and some bring happy tears to my eyes. Thanks again!!

Last year during the MVMCP parade Cindy turned, looked directly at my DD 5, and waved. My DD feel off her seat. The look on her face was priceless.

My favorite moment has more to do with my son's reaction to his favorite characters. We were waiting at Al's Toy Barn for Woody and Buzz, but it started to rain. We went for cover in the nearby gift store. We were told the characters can't go out in the rain. When the rain stopped, no Woody and Buzz. We waited in line, but everyone else left. We were the first ones in the line at this point, and Woody and Buzz finally came out. My 3 yo started running in circles, splashing in puddles and yelling, "It's Woody and Buzz. It's Woody and Buzz." He was soooo excited.

We did get him to stand still for a picture and stamped autograph. It was by far my favorite memory of our trip. When we were done we got to see Jessie and then we turned the corner and there we found Kermit and Miss Piggy.

We've had a bunch in WDW -I had Baloo
take my FRS radio and try to use it..
From what he was doing, I think he was
trying to contact the Sea Duck! We got
some great pictures from that one.

The characters LOVE little kids, and are
tickled when they're brave enough to
go up to them and interact with them.

I had one very early in our WDW lives,
when our first DD was about 9mo old.
She was sitting in a high chair in
Electric Umbrella when they had
characters going around in a "informal
character breakfast" . Minnie came over
to my DD, and gave her a bottle which
was on the table. My DD kind of looked
at her with this "and EXACTLY who are you? look on her face.:p Just great!

My best moment, was in CA at Disneyland.
We got to ride the carrousel with Mary
Poppins and 3 penguins! She rode around
for a while, signing autographs, and getting pictures while sitting sidesaddle
on a carrousel horse. We spent the
whole rest of the day going "we rode
on the carrousel with Mary Poppins...!"

I celebrated my birthday at Ohana'.
Little did I know that my mom had called
ahead and let them know. I had all
the characters from the breakfast come
over + cast members, and sing me
Happy Birthday, and then goofy
presented me with a cake! just
hystericalll

simply magic. Every time we go to WDW, or DL or DLP, we've had these
moments. It's one of the reasons we
keep going back all the time.

We took my grandma to CRT for her 83rd birthday. She enjoyed herself so much. She was wearing a blue shirt that was the same color of Cinderella's dress and Cindy gave her so much attention. The girl who played Cinderella that day was just wonderful. Grandma was just as excited as the little girls sitting next to us. It really was a magical moment that I'll always treasure. Grandma still talks about it and it's been a year later.:D

My favorite character moment was last December...

My mom and I were having breakfast a Hollywood and Vine. It was my first trip and her second... our first together. It was our first morning, and I had never been to a character meal before. She had insisted on at least one a day because she enjoyed them so much.

I had a big fat pen with Pluto on it... he's my favorite... and my autograph book in hand. He looked a the pen and started jumping and running around the room to show it to all the tables around us. Then he came back to the table and wouldn't stop "licking" my head!

My mom took a picture. I wish I knew how to add it here, because it's my favorite pic from the trip!

Anyway, she sold me on Character Meals. We planned 2 each day for our trip this December

It was about 5 years ago. My son (who was about 4 at the time) was mad about Buzz Lightyear and had a baseball cap with Buzz on. We stood in line to meet Buzz and Woody and Buzz caught sight of DS's cap and grabbed him and gave him the biggest hug ever. Woody, miffed that DS did not have a Woody hat, took the cap off his head and put it high in the tree behind him! Thankfully, DS was old enough to get the joke and it absolutely made his day. Especially when Buzz picked him up and helped him retrieve his cap! I actually have the photograph as the wallpaper on my computer. The most magical moment in the world.
