Here's mine! I love how the fireworks look so wispy! My family all laughed at me when I carried my tripod into the park, but I think it was worth the humiliation to get this shot.
And this one has lousy weather, not-so-great exposure, but it's the first time one of our DS's marched down Main Street with our high school band, so it will ALWAYS be my most favorite photo
Wow...that's a tough one. I gotta think if I ever got a shot of that...Oh wait...I think I did get a shot or two. (I have a feeling you're going to see 1,000 pics within a few days!!).
Here's some of my favorites:
Nice pics, everyone! You're giving me a few new ideas to add to my 4,000 angles already taken...I see some pretty neat shots I haven't thought of yet.
Gdad, I love that 4th shot with the dark castle and fireworks - I need to get some dark castle shots - gives it a whole new feel!
Thank you. It was indeed taken from the Contemporary roof's north side access. Used to be no problem getting there by taking the elevator up and walking out...but California Grill is cracking down more on casual passers-through and restricts elevator access. But you can still head out one of the higher room floor doors at the north end and walk up a few flights. Often, you'll find one of the doors jammed open with something stuck in it so it doesn't relock (you can't get back into the hotel from the stairway...so if the door isn't rigged, you have to go all the way down).
BTW - it wasn't lovely morning mist - it was actually smoke haze and pollution that caused the hazy but cool background. Fire season is one of the best times for late or early castle shots from the roof!
