There are too many buffets at Disney World! I'm trying to figure out our dining (even though I have 13 months to go ). I have a lot of TS restaurants planned, but am overwhelmed by the amount of buffets and the mixed reviews on all of them! What is your fave buffet? Why? Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Thanks :thumbsup2 !!

BOMA (in my opinion) blows every other buffet out of the water! It is the only restaurant we eat at twice during our annual trips. It would be worth the price of an airline ticket just to fly down and eat there for the night! :thumbsup2

Oh, don't know if you have kids (yup, sorry, see that you do!) - my 2 kids love it. They have standard kids fare (mac-n-cheese, chicken fingers, etc.) for picky eaters.

The desserts are to die for!!!

Another vote for Boma. We love the quality and variety. We're not impressed by traditional buffet fare but Boma is a much nicer experience. The soups are especially good.

Our last few trips have involved infants, so buffets are a good way to go for us. (That said, we've tried quite a few regular TS places too.)

As adults, our favourite buffets (in order of preference) are:

Crystal Palace (dinner, have been 3x)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast, have been 1x)
Biergarten (dinner, have been 2x)
Boma (breakfast, have been 1x)
Chef Mickey's (dinner, have been 1x)
1900 Park Fare (dinner, have been 1x)
Boma (dinner, have been 2x)
Cape May Clam Bake (dinner, have been 2x)
Trails End Buffet (dinner, have been 1x)
Hollywood & Vine (dinner, have been 2x)

(In all honesty, the food has always been good. Not gourmet, but if that's what you are expecting than buffets are not the way to go.)

And for what it's worth, here's our list of favourite "family style" meals.

Whispering Canyon Skillet (dinner, have been 3x)
Ohana (dinner, have been 2x)
Spirit of Aloha (dinner, have been 1x)
Hoop Dee Doo (dinner, have been 1x)

(Again, the food was always filling and tasty, but again, definitely more homestyle than gourmet.)

I agree with the Boma comments. The food there is great! However, if you are like me, you are looking for character dining to make the kiddos happy. We are going in December for 9 days/8 nights and have 7 character meals scheduled for that time, all to make the kiddos happy! However, we have experienced CP dinner, Chef Mickey's bfast and dinner, Akershus bfast, and Tusker House bfast, and 1900 Park Fare dinner. We most enjoyed the 1900 Park Fare dinner, and have both the dinner (with Cinderella, etc.)and breakfast(with Alice and Mary Poppins) scheduled for our upcoming trip.

In general, we prefer not to go to buffets. The food, while generally better than Golden Corral, just doesn't wow us that much. But, that said, if we have to rate buffets, Crystal Palace would be our favorite for dinner; Boma for breakfast. Cape May dinner is good, as is Tusker House dinner. We also liked most of the food at 1900 Park Fare. Chef Mickey's breakfast was good, but limited variety (great characters, though, if you're in seach of the character experiences.)

We really did NOT like Boma dinner...though we are very adventurous eaters, we found Boma dinner to be either over-the-top oddities on seasoning or totally bland. No such thing as subtle, there.

Hollywood & Vine was just OK for dinner, and we had terrible service & blah food for breakfast just this past May...would not go back.

Well, I think I'm going to have to try Boma!! My son doesn't really care what the food is as long as there is mac n cheese  ! I would like to plan one character meal. I would love to do CP breakfast, but we have CL so our breakfast is included. Not sure if I want to use a TS for that. Maybe a CP dinner? Oh, my mouth is watering. . .

I'm a bit of a picky eater when it comes to meats so buffets work well for me. I can have a small sample of a few meats, and then eat a bit of everything else. We do have a lot of TS planned, but I wanted to include a couple buffet to pig out a bit. We are staying at BC so I have been looking into Cape May. I'm not really interested in Chef Mickey- not sure why, but it just doesn't seem like anything special. I haven't heard many good things about Hollywood & Vine, so that didn't even make the list.

Tusker House lunch/dinner just might be our favorite meal of them all. :thumbsup2 The food is fantastic. There is a good variety - enough to please everyone in my family. :goodvibes We love it. :cloud9:

I generally only prefer buffets at breakfast time, because I'm extremely picky when it comes to entrees and meats, but I generally love all breakfast foods. Boma is far and away my favorite breakfast buffet at the world! Boma is also my fiance's favorite, but for dinner. All I eat at the dinner buffet are the soups and desserts so...breakfast please!

Chef Mickey's is great fun for breakfast also. We're finally trying Crystal Palace in October, I'm looking forward to that!

We aren't traditionally buffet folk, but our exceptions are Cape May and Boma- Boma just ahs such great flavor- we try to go every trip.

BREAKFAST- CRYSTAL PALACE
lunch- NO BUFFETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY:)
DINNER-OHANA its family style

Another vote for Boma here - by far the best meal we had on our last trip so booked again for October. Personally I think it is better for children as you can give them a greater selection of food and not just mac'n'cheese, fries and a bag of grapes. My son who was 9 last trip loved the wood roasted meats and ribs and the choice of sides (he is pleased that he is classed as an adult on our next trip and can readily order tasty food)

Word of warning though..... I ate so much food - I actually stuggled to walk!

In terms of breakfast - we love the Ohana Best Friends Breakfast - my DD loves Stitch with all her heart so this is an essential trip, the food is good (family style), the atmosphere is fun when the Hawaiian Rollercoaster music comes on and above all the interaction with Lilo, Stitch & Mickey is top class.

Boma, the quality and selection has always been very good there. I also really like Crystal Palace, but Boma is more unique.

Well, it looks like we should definitly do Boma :thumbsup2! I am still unsure about CP. I think we will also do Cape May (since we are staying at BC we HAVE to, right?), and my husband and son really want Ohana. Still a tough choice but I think I have it narrowed down a bit at least. Thanks everyone :goodvibes!!

HATED Boma!

All the dishes were spiced with a cinnamon spice or fruits, making everything including things like mashed potatoes and veggies sweet.
Even the meats are rubbed with sweet spices.
To us it was over the top sweet. I like my meat and potatoes to taste as such, not like holiday desserts.

That said, Crystal Palace is my favorite buffet. The food is great there. And they have a mushroom pasta dish that is fantastic.

We also like the all you care to eat meals like WCC skillet and Ohana's meals. Very good.

Boma for food; Crystal Palace for characters and location - I would say its the best food of the character buffets as well! :goodvibes

Add me to the hate Boma crowd. Weird or bland. No middle ground.
My favorite buffet is Biergarten. If you like German food at all, this place will wow you. Great variety and flavors. Nothing here is sickeningly sweet. Except the Bavarian cheesecake.Yum! CP is pretty good. I really enjoy the family style places. One no one has mentioned is Liberty Tree Tavern, very good. And HDDR is a dinner show with ribs, fried chicken, beans, cornbread, taters and strawberry short cake. And the show is the most fun I've had in the World.
