Favorite Bridal Shower games

I am posting this here because I want to get a poll of everyone married and unmarried.....

So please tell me what your favorite bridal shower games are?
And why we are at it, what are the ones that you can't stand playing?

I don't like any of the typical games. My friend and I have promised to spare each other

The one thing we both like is to ask the bride & groom the same questions and ask a question before opening a gift. Not really a game, but it's fun to see the different answers.

Haha, gigi22! I need to know, too - I'm giving a bridal shower next weekend. Do people still play games at bridal showers? We are having a "recipe shower" with just the girls. Thanks!

I hate all of the games. I do like giving the bride recipes and also a box for "words of wisdom" that others can write down and then you can read them all aloud. That is pretty entertaining!

At my baby shower I was pretty picky about games. I hate the ones that single someone out or try to embarrass someone, especially me... like they did at my bridal shower.

At the baby shower they did gift bingo. Give out bingo cards and have everyone fill out the spaces with things they think mom (or bride) MIGHT get. Then as the gifts are opened they cross off each item until someone gets a Bingo. Same thing can be done with bridal shower, you can let the guests fill out the cards or make preprinted cards.

They also did a random clock timer. They set the timer for 5 minutes...whoever's gift I had in my hand at that time won a door prize. Then we reset it for a few more minutes and carried that on until I was done opening gifts.

The worst one was at my bridal shower. My MOH thought it would be hilarious to call my DH & ask a ton of embarrassing questions. He thought it was just going to be my girlfriends and it would be funny to play along. One of the questions was what he thought my best "assets" were... that was not funny when I was sitting next to my 90 yr old Catholic Grandmother.
There was a few other questions along those lines but I can't remember the exact wording. I think I blocked it out

One game we like to play at showers is one we call THE PURSE GAME. You make a list of anything you can think of that a lady might have in her purse--silver dollar, lipstick, 9 keys, measuring tape, pliers, screwdriver, lip balm, wallet, 20 pennies, stapler/staples, scotch tape, ink pen w/red ink, pack tissues (kleenex), aspirin, thread, scissors asthma inhaler; well, you get the idea. Your imagination can run wild. Winner is the person who has the most items on your list. Have a good time!

I just held a wedding shower with another friend yesterday. We played a "Price is Right" kind of game that everyone seemed to enjoy. I bought 10 different cleaning items and everyone had to write down the prices. We took the total and gave the person closest a prize.

We also played a game that was How well do you know the bride. It was a series of 15 questions. It was kind of fun to hear some of the silly answers.

The word scramble we did was a dud.

I personally hate the dumb bingo game people play while opening gifts. I also don't care for the game where things are displayed on a tray and you have to write down what was on the tray when it is taken away. I did hear a version that sounded fun though; the bride displays the tray and then walks out of the room. Everyone thinks they have to answer questions about the items on the tray, but instead have to answer questions about what the bride is wearing.

Good ideas with the Price is Right and altering the tray game. We have done the Bingo game at the last two parties. It was like "really? Again?".

even if the questions presented to the groom to be ahead of time are not embarasing-if any guests at the shower have ever dated the groom AVOID THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS.

i attended a bridal shower for my former boyfriend's fiance (we had remained good friends, amicable breakup, heck-i suggested to him he date her in the first place) and scored 100% while the bride scored only about 50%rotfl. can you say "here's how to put a damper on a party and guarantee the groom is going to catch some flack that night"?

I just attended a Bridal shower this afternoon. I'm not a big fan of games but they did one that was not too painful. The attendees were mainly Mom friends and relatives.

We were given a note card. The hostess then asked if anyone had pencils or pens in their purses. As everyone started to search the bottoms of their purses, she said we would get 3 points for every one we found then we wrote the amount on the card. She went on to ask for items and assigned points for each item - some more than others. Some items were a phone, pictures, tissues, lipstick - even a condom that will probably be ****.) When she finished her list, we added our points and the top three were given a plant. It was quick, painless and good for a few laughs.

I think the games are fine if the bride and most of the shower attendees are all very young, early 20's, and haven't attended many showers. Most grown women are not at all interested and if you've been to a dozen showers or more, they're just plain annoying. I'm very happy to be spared from the silly games. If I must tolerate shower games, there had better be mimosas coming my way.

I like the toilet paper bride, you pick 2 teams and make a wedding dress from tp. It doesn't take too long and it isn't embarrassing. Just fun.
