Favorite Bad Movie

Kellyann

It is Girls just want to have fun. I rememeber that movie well . All I have to do to make my younger cousin die laughing is say "tune in tokyo"

Kellyann, That was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Shannen Dougherty was in it too!

My really bad favorite is Empire Records, with Liv Tyler, Rene Zellweger, Robin Tuney, and Maxwell Caulfield (of Grease 2 fame). I can't not watch if it is on.

I also loved Grease 2, Night of the Comet, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and that Megan Follows / Durmot Mulroney TV movie. There was also one about Disco starring Terri Nunn of Berlin and Mackenzie Phillips. Anyone remember the name of that one?

Edited to add: It was Thank God It's Friday. Debra Winger and Jeff Goldblum were in it too!

I loved "Mommie Dearest", it was creepy- bizarre in only the way a movie about Joan Crawford should be.:earseek:

'Earth Girls are Easy"
"Night of the Comet"
"Sixteen Candles"
"Cry Baby"

These all top the baddy list!:o

Did anyone say "Office Space"? It had that almost believable, but anti-social quality, that makes a bad movie memorable!:D

Buckaroo Banzi

Does anyone remember a movie called "American Anthem" with Janet Jones trying to make a gymnastic team? That was soooo corny but obviously memorable (to me, at least!)

Whoever said Earth Girls are Easy: One of my sister's all time favorites - she can recite it word for word! I saw it recently at her house, boy, it hasn't aged well!

One movie that has sentimental value to me but is horrible is "Johnny Dangerously". My DH and I saw it on our first date - which happens to be 19 (OMG!) years ago today! What was Michael Keaton thinking?

Have to add my .02 here and agree wholeheartedly with Grease 2 and Cutting Edge.

Also adding Xanadu  and Starship Troopers :teeth:

just thought of another one Remo Williams The Adventure Begins

Love Son In Law - DH and I saw that on our 2nd date at the budget theater! lol!

Grease 2 - I just burned a CD recently and on it I have "Cool Rider" and "Reproduction" :) I couldn't fine "We're Gonna Score Tonight" :)

Xanadu - sooo bad, but so good :) Added the song "Xanadu" to that same CD.

Shag - It's been so long since I've seen this movie, I'm long overdue for a girls weekend when I can rent this. DH would never sit through this.

Can't Buy Me Love - How come this is never on tv? I love this movie! I need to see this again too so I can brush up on my African Ant Eater dance (I think that's what it's called)

How about "Summer Rental" with John Candy? He did another move around the same time that I loved, but my mind is blank.

We just bought "Spinal Tap" on DVD. Would that be considered a classic or a bad movie? Or a classic bad movie? LOL.

Oh, how about Bill Murray in "Meatballs"? "Are you ready for the summerrrrr..." Ha-ha, the counselors move the head counselor's bed in a tree while he is sleeping. :p

And, of course, Joe Dirt.

Not sure if anyone has heard of this one but it was back in the 80's....Night of the Comet. I still like this movie for some unknown reason.

How about Next of Kin? Just LOVE that movie! "You haven't seen bad yet... but it's comin'".

Several of my favorite "bad" movies have already been mentioned... Cutting Edge ("Toe pick!"), Roadhouse, Valley Girl... and The Breakfast Club (which isn't REALLY a bad movie, is it?).

Serial Mom (made for TV movie on TNT about 5 years ago) Scared the pants off me at the time...I was 9. Great movie though. Had Shelly Long in it.

Dawn of the Dead "Oh look! Zombie, lets shoot its head/arm/leg/______ off (insert random body part). Or in extreme cases lets shove a screwdriver in its ear" Gosh, I loved that movie.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Yes, I admit it. I was a midnight freak.

My name is JDY and I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Now for the next 11 steps.

It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I've got to keep control

I remember doing the TIme Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let's do the time warp again...
Let's do the time warp again!

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let's do the Time Warp again!

It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me
So you can't see me, no not at all
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention
Well-secluded, I see all
With a bit of a mind flip
You're there in the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same
You're spaced out on sensation, like you're under sedation
Let's do the Time Warp again!

Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let's do the Time Warp again!

Better off Dead...with John Cusak from 1985
He has that newspaper boy chasing him in the movie..."I want my two dollars!"

Down Twisted.....Carey Lowell and Charles Rocket

I'm surprised at what some people are calling "bad" movies, but here are some of my guilty pleasures...those flicks that if I find them on late at night, I have no other choice but to watch.

Critters (and all sequels)
The Last American Virgin (yet another 80s teen flick, some hilarity - but with a sad ending)
Southern Comfort (lost National Guard squad vs. in-bred Cajuns)
Short Circuit (Ally Sheedy with the hairdo from hell and that bad
movie stalwart - Steve Gutenberg)
Logan's Run (dig those 70s costumes !)
The Rambo Sequels (brainless, but they kill lotsa commies !)
Night of the Comet
The Howling ("How would you like that miss ?" "RARE")
The Warriors (Gotta dig them New York "gangs" they dreamed up)
The Last Starfighter (Feel good, corny, sci-fi fun)
The Karate Kid sequels except for the one with the chick (The Cobras' instructor is great. And also beg the question: How long can a 30+ year old play little Daniel-san anyway ?)
Red Dawn
Adventures in Babysitting (I WANTED that sitter)
The Beastmaster (Tanya Roberts, YA !)
Class of 1984 ("Teacher, Teacher....")
Explorers
The Golden Child (REALLY Bad, but its Eddie folks...)
House (original w/William Katt)
Howard the Duck ( Lea Thompson, baby )
Labyrinth ( Jenn Connolly, Dave Bowie, and muppets - what else could you want ?)
Lucas (I'm not sure why I like this - must have Lukaplakea....oh, young Miss Ryder is in it)
Moving Violations ( Bill Murray's brother stars in it - probably his only movie )
My Science Project ( a messy mish-mash of fun )
One Crazy Summer ( classic John Cusack, the Bobcat, and young Demi )
The Best of Times ( Robin Williams playing football - classic ).

I could go on for ages, but I gotta move on. Great Thread !
