This is how I do it as well. When we are low on something I write it down. One side of the paper is for food, the other side for supplies (cleaners, laundry, paper products, etc.) and I go shopping once every 1-2 weeks. I'm 12 miles from the store so I wouldn't want to go daily.
I use Paperless and have ongoing lists for all the stores I shop at. Most stores have their own apps with a list function built in. I keep thinking I’ll switch over to that but I have years worth of stuff compiled, it would be like starting all over.
They have an app with a list function. However, I just tried it and everything I scan says, “out of stock” and it won’t add it to my list. So maybe not such a great app, lol.
I don't know why, but I still prefer just using pen and paper. I will tell Alexa to add things to my list and then at the store I'll check to see if I missed anything. Guess I am a mix of old and new.
I use an app called shopping list. It syncs across our phones so any of us can add to the list. I can make separate lists for separate stores and I can categorize items using their categories or make my own. For example, I have a produce category, frozen foods category, etc.
I use Our Groceries. We all have the app on our phones and we can all add to the list. I actually make several lists....like one for BJ's and one for Target in addition to our grocery list. When we are out of something or running low, it gets added. The kids can also add the snacks they want for their lunches each week. Keeps me from guessing.
