We love DWD ANY time, but it has a special magic in the evening. We have lots of favorite memories, but our most recent one was on our trip back in March. We had headed over to Splash Mt. after Spectro, and as we came to the top of the drop and paused, we saw the castle lit up and fireworks going off over it. It was so awesome!!!

Welcome to the DIS!

You're right, there is a special magic in the evening. I love to see Spaceship Earth at night, it's beautiful. :)

You took my answer! Definitely watching the fireworks from Splash mountain. :)

i like to hang around as late as possible after an e-ticket night and just sit and enjoy the quiet beauty of the castle as it changes colors....almost brings a tear to my eye....

I have 2 favorite after dark memories.

The first time one was the very first time my mother age 58 went to WDW. I had been there several times previous. The only thing that was open when we arrived was Epcot. We walked into the park and got to the water fountain in the middle. As the water jumped in the air to the music and lights, my mother stood there and cried. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that "she never thought she would make it here". Of course I cried as well then.

Shortly after 9/11 I was at WDW with my parents again. My mother and I just stood and cried while we were listening to the "We go on" song at Epcot after Illuminations, it had such meaning on that trip!

We love Disney at night too!

Our favorite after dark memory has to be riding Dumbo while the fireworks were going off!! We felt like we were in a commercial. We saw Tinkerbell fly down from the castle just as we were to board and then the fireworks started and Dumbo started! It was also our first night in the parks for that trip. It was very magical! :)

I have two also.

1. My friend and I had been elsewhere shopping and were on our way back to POR. Just as we rounded the corner to see the Welcome to Disney World sign over the road the fireworks started in the sky, truely perfect timing.

2. Watching my wife in son at the lighting of the tree in the worlds at Epcot :)

Shane that picture of your wife and son is priceless. It brought a smile to my face.:D

My favorite after-dark memory is seeing DH's face as he witnessed the Main Street Electrical Parade for the first time. It was his first trip to WDW, and I do believe I saw a tear sneak out of his eye. THAT is what got him hooked on the World.:D

Oh, boy....
Epcot World Showcase at night,
right after it gets dark and before the
WS gets too crowded because of
Illuminations... Just walking around the
WS, listening to the area music, and
looking at everything.... It's very
romantic, too...

I would have to go with walking up to the castle, being by ourselves watching Mickey and Minnie slow dancing together and then dancing with Pluto. It was just way too cute and there was noone else around to see it! That was the perfect end to a great eride night!

Splash Mountain at night is a must with the castle all lit up. With the short hours next week, I may not be able to really experience that.

Last summer during e-rides night (our first ever e-rides) DH and I were sitting on a bench by the Walt and Mickey Statue realxaing and watching the castle change different colors while just enjoying the serenity of the park. During that moment we both must have been thinking the same thing....This is our most favorite place on earth. Boy we cannot wait until August!

Three of my evening favorite memories happened during e-nights. A few years ago, I was walking to Splash Mountain, and one of the Country Bears came over to me, took me by the arm, and we skipped through Frontierland almost the entire way to Splash Mountain (who would have thought I'd be skipping through Disney World at the age of 28?).

Another time during an e-night, I got to ride on Splash Mountain all by myself. I have a great picture of me alone on the ride. When it came time for the big drop, I took out my refillable mug, put my arm across the back of the seat, and "relaxed" with a cup of coffee for the big drop. The cast members at the photo shop were in hysterics over it.

Another time, I was playing with Goofy near the Partners statue. I posed like the little Goofy statue in that area and waited for Goofy to come over to me. Goofy pointed at the statue, and then me, and started laughing. Then he posed the same way.

Last trip we had dinner in the Castle one night. Saw the fireworks from our table--beautiful. But the best part was walking through the MK after closing with no one around but the night CMs. We felt like the park belonged to just us as we headed slowly for the exit.

I have so many it would be hard to pick. One of them is definatly the first time I went on the TTA at MK. It was evening and when I got to the part where the cars pass by the Hub, the Main Street Electrical Parade was all the way up and down the Street. I've seen the parade before, but it seemed even more beautiful seeing all the floats like that. After the ride, I went down to the Hub to see the last float go by. It was beautiful.

My favorite after-dark memory is a DisneyLAND one (hope that's alright). The first time I was there for the "snow" on Main Street. We all stood watching the fireworks amidst the crowd huddled in the middle of Main Street and then the snow came down. Being from California, I NEVER see snow fall and so it was truly magical for me and then, I cried when I heard this little girl shout through the crowd "mommy, it's snowing, it's snowing". I was with my young niece and nephew and their eyes lit up in utter amazement. It was great and I'll NEVER forget that. I cry when I think about it!

OK, I'm gonna get a little misty eyed here when I tell you my favorite after dark memory. It was when my father and I would go to Epcot, stay all day, and leave at closing. We would walk to the parking lot holding hands, just so content. We went many times, just him and me, last trip for him about 8 years ago. My father passed away last December but those memories are dear to my heart.

Snow on Main Street during and after the Holiday parade! I'm from New England and Love snow and I Love Disney. I'm glad it was fake snow though!!!! For me it was very magical.

Our first MVMCP walking into the park. Xmas lights, decorations, snow on main street and the smell of popcorn, the bakery and Casey's Corner.
