Need help deciding what activity to do with my two daughters, ages 5 and 4 in the parks.

What is your favorite & why?

1. Character Autographs
2. Pressed Penny collection
3. Epcot Passport
4. Pin Trading
5. ? WDW Scrapbooking Stations (Tinkerbell Scrapbook)

Without question...character autographs. When my kids were 3 & 5, they absolutely loved it. Last month, at age 7 & 9 it was still one of the highlights. It was the only way I could get my 7 year old son to pose for pictures! And nothing beats the character meals for little ones. ::MinnieMo

For your two daughters :earsgirl: :earsgirl: , especially because of their ages, I often highly recommend either the Cinderellas' Royal Table Breaksfast in the MK, or the Princess Storybook Breakfast in the Norway pavilion in Epcot. princess:

Either gives them the change to meet and greet princesses one-on-one, rather than get pushed out of the way by tramping kids (and parents) when they show up in the parks.

Here's a helpful hint: try to book your Cinderella breakfast early in the morning, before the park opens - this way, you can time when your meal ends with the official opening, and be the first to ride popular attractions for the kids like Winnie the Pooh, (grab a FASTPASS first and hit another close-by attraction to really maximize your time!).

Hope that long-winded advice helps!!! Oh, and be sure to bring your camera and ENJOY!!!

My two boys, 3.5 and 6.5 loved the pressed pennies and the pin trading. They were not big into the characters and it was okay because we didn't have to spend time waiting in line for the autographs. We saw lots of characters...and lots of lines!::MickeyMo

My DD5 really enjoyed the pressed pennies and the character greetings. Pin trading is still a few years away.

My kids, ages 7, 4 and 4 loved getting the characters autographs. We went in October and are going back this weekend. The autograph hounds are ready!pirate:

Another vote here for the autographs - the kids just love to get these, and it provides a great souvenir for you too! Get a picture of your girls with the character, and put it on the facing page of the autograph!

Another activity your girls should love is the Masks in Epcot. Go to any Kidcot station in the World Showcase, and they will give you a mask on a wooden ruler sized stick. There are markers at every station for them to decorate the masks, and each different country will add a paper charm and stamp the handle. This activity made Epcot my 5 year old's favorite park - better than MK! The best part is - they are free! Don't bother with the Passports till they are older - they are fairly expensive ($10), and are not very interactive.

My daughter loved pin trading - but didn't get the concept really until she was 7. She just got a lanyard, and kept trading for the fun of trading.

This past December, we discovered pressed penny machines..DS5 loved it. We did the autograph book too which he enjoyed, but the pennies were his absolute favorite...bought the book for them and they are the first things that come out at our house when someone talks to him about Disney...

Hi - my kids love to do both of the above but also still love to color the mask in Epcot ( even though there isn't a parade to wear them too anymore ) we have one from each year hanging on their walls in their bedrooms and its fun to look at them and see just how much they have grown through their coloring skills !
I agree with doing Character Meals too.. Michelle

:) Thanks to all for your advice.

AKQJ10: We do have the Cinderella's Royal Breakfast and the Princess Storybook Breakfast booked. This is our first time for both of these and my girls are very excited.

From all of your posts it seems that my DD5 and DD4 may be a little to young to get into pin trading.

CRCrazy: Thanks for your input, I don't think I will bother with the Epcot Passports for now. Maybe when they understand more about geography. We did the masks a couple of years ago and they had fun. Perhaps they will get a little more creative with it now that they are older. We are staying at the Swan because I love Epcot and will probably stop in a lot on this trip. I will miss seeing a parade there, I really enjoyed those parades.

I read a post were someone brought a poster to the parks and had the characters sign it, and then they framed it when they got home.
I was thinking about it and saw a disney princess poster in pastel colors that I could take to the 2 princess character breakfasts. just a thought. princess:

Ralpheholt,

What is a autograph hound? Is it better than a cap?

I wanted to suggest that for your autograph books you go to Waldens or Barnes and Noble and buy a blank journal book. Waldens almost always seems to have these on sale at a 'clearance' price. They are MUCH sturdier than the books they sell at WDW. We bought some iron on characters at Wal~Mart and personalized the fronts. Tie some lime green ribbon through the book and you are ready to go! When we got home we found stickers of the charecters and put them on the correct pages so the kids can 'read' their books to others. The kids have LOVED taking these books to school for show and tell!
