Favorite 3 countries at World Showcase

I like Mexico, Norway and Germany. To me they are the best in Details and I like the rides on Mexico and Norway!

Those are my 3 tops but I do love the whole world showcase!!!!

My top 3 are:
1. France-love the smells, the bakery, the movie, the bakery, the resturaunt, the bakery, and did I say the bakery?
2. Morocco-so detailed and different, also love the unique food
3. Germany-DH spent 9 months studying there in college, both love the culture.

For us, Mexico is a distant last only because we can go to the actual country and buy the same things within about 20 minutes of our house. Otherwise, I can see where that would be a beautiful pavillion to visit.

Limit it to just 3... I don't know if I can pick just 3. Let's see.
1) Mexico has a great atmosphere for kids and adults. The ride is neat also.

2) Norway has a great ride and a neat playground.

3) Germany - the lunch/dinner show is a lot of fun.

I will say that we tour every country, every year. We love it!!! There's something for every age all the way around the lake, and if you like to eat... it's a lot of fun to have a taste of the different cultures. The CMs are great and really take pride in their country, I have yet to run into a CM that wasn't willing to tell me a little about their homeland.
Have a great time!!!

Morroco
France
UK

We love all of these for the food & architecture

:)

ps: we always stop and buy a few glass C'mas Tree Ornamnets from Germany - they have some really interesting ones.

You know, I will only be happy if DD is having a good time too.

If it was only me, I would be into sampling all the great food. DD, however, is a very picky eater. She only likes really plain food; no spices, no mixtures. I wonder if there would be enough at Biergarten for her to enjoy?

DD is really into music. I think she would like Off Kilter in Canada and the British Invasion in UK.

I know she will enjoy Japan if she can shop for Yu-Gi-Oh! and other Anime products there. The shows at Japan sound neat, too.

The ride in Mexico and the scenery there sound like something we can both enjoy, also...

Great feedback, all; thanks! (MORE, PLEASE!!)

UK - The British Invasion, great shops and Bass Ale.
Japan - Teppanyaki, shopping in Mitsukoshi and Kirin Ichiban.
Norway - The trolls, Maelstrom and the recently departed Ringnes Beer.

1. Morocco Once you enter the shopping area, you can really "get lost". Lots of neat stuff to look at.

2. China The movie is great. It takes you to places you will probably never get to yourself. We saw it last year (again) and I do think they changed it a little from how it had been. I'm thinking they added more about Hong Kong or something since things have changed politically over there. By the way, the marketplace there sells only "authentic" Chinese products, no Disney related items. My DD wanted something (anything?) Mulan related, but no luck. She did get the fan with her name written in Chinese on it. Nice and inexpensive souvenier.

3. Mexico The indoor marketplace is so nice: dark and cool when it's hot and sunny outside!

We have yet to hear the bands at Canada or UK, but did time it right for the "actors" back in the streets of UK. They do audience participation, funny takes on famous Shakespeare plays. Very cute.

1. Norway - One of my top 5 rides in all of WDW.
2. Japan - There is no ride or movie, but kids seem to love the main shop. They love to pick an oyster to get a pearl. There is a section in the back of the store that has chop sticks. I think every kid who was in the store was buying some.
3. Mexico/Germany - Mexico has the only other ride in World Showcase. Germany has a really fun restaurant.

The World Showcase has been my DDs favorite part of WDW since her first visit to the World at age 6! I think it had something to do with getting off the boat at Morocco and walking into a courtyard area and finding Aladdin and Jasmine there and being alone with them for 10 minutes before any other guests came along - but what ever the reason - she loves the countries. Her favorites are the boat rides - likes Norway better, but enjoys them both, the food in the Rose and Crown and buying an oyster and getting the pearl in the shop in Japan.

We both also love to explore the shops in all the counties - and to eat the pastries in France - I had forgotten about them - but thanks to all for the reminders!!

Oh, we wish there was an Ireland too - but the fact that you can get Irish candy in the store in the UK is of some comfort:D

Hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Well, since my son is going to marry Mulan (he proposed to her in April), our favorite is China

I love the UK, my favorite spot at Epcot is the bench in front of the Rose & Crown outside bar just watching everything going on, hearing Off Kilter, and before I used to love hearing Tapestry of Dreams parade from there.

Boy, then its a tough one...I think I will pick Canada.

I love them all:D

My two favorites are Norway and China. They both really make me want to go there. I LOVE the film in China and the boat ride in Norway. Both pavillions are so beautiful and have neat shops.
My third would be Mexico. The boat ride is relaxing and the restaurant is pretty good, too.

My three favorites are ~

Italy ~ It's absolutely beautiful, gotta love the living statues! I also loved, loved, loved Masquerade but I've heard it is no more. :(

France ~ I just like the atmosphere here. The perfume shop gives me a headache and the garden is usually full of smokers but I still love it! Don't ask me why, maybe it's the French in me coming to life or maybe that Beauty & The Beast is my favorite movie. LOL

Morocco ~ Another one that I just love the atmosphere. Some of the friendliest cm's I've ever encountered have been in Morocco. It is the most well done country in my opinion. I can get lost there. :)

There isn't really a country that I don't like but since you only asked for three, these are my favorites. :)

My favourite was Mexico - I just love the atmosphere inside the market area and the ride is relaxing. Because I only eat Kosher meat the menu at the restaurant looked a bit limited but I considered eating there for the atmosphere alone.

At number two I would put the UK - even though I'm from England myself I find the pavillion a very nice place to spend time while at Epcot. Nice shops, lovely architecture and lots of nice places to sit and watch the world go by. I like the food at the Rose and Crown and the British Invasion are amazing.

Third I would have to say China. Again great shopping, great architecture and the film is simply beautiful although maybe not interesting for your daughter.

If you have money for "Extras" budgeted, I recommend going to Morocco and letting her get a henna tattoo! It washes off in 7 days, so it's no big deal. I think she could get a small one for $10-$15. I always enjoyed doing that when I took trips with my parents- it made me feel very grown up and important. Plus, the belly dancer there is pretty cool and the shop has lots of neat jewelry if she is into that (as most teenage girls are :)
And the marketplace back behind also has lots of fun stuff.

Other than that... I will have to go with Japan or China for the shopping- lots of small, fun goodies she would probably enjoy, and Japan has candies and things that would be fun to try.

As for adults... every time I go to the Japan marketplace, I have to be pulled away from all of the sushi sets and tea sets... they're all so beautiful!

I love walking from one end to the other, and I do love them all. That being said, the least interesting is probably the American Pavillion, since living it everyday is much more exciting than visiting a mini replica of it. My faves are probably Morocco, Norway and Germany. I love the atmosphere inside Mexico, but I don't really care for the boat ride. I love the UK area because it reminds me of Mary Poppins and tea. It's all good. Walking around Epcot at night right before Illuminations is one of my favorite activities at WDW.

From all of the great ideas I have been getting about things to see and do at World Showcase (Thanks, everyone for the posts!)
I have the idea that DD13 and I will be spending a lot more time there than I had thought.

DD would LOVE to get a henna tatoo; that is on "the list" (the long list of things to do!). And I would love to look at the tea sets...

Also read somewhere that UK has penguin topiary; I must get a picture of that (my favorite animal in the zoo)...

It sounds like the countries are full of the "Disney magic"; just not in the same way as, say, MK is. World Showcase might just become a favorite place--for me and for DD!!

It's one of our favorite things about our trip. We love to eat and shop and check out all of the entertainment.

My 3 favs (if I have to pick just 3):

1) Mexico - love the Mariachi (sp?) Band. Great shopping and dining. We always end up buying something from this country.

2) China - again love the shopping. The Chinese acrobats are fantastic!

3) Canada - love Le Cellier and the gardens are beautiful.

Mexico is definitely number one for me. . .once you enter the pyramid, it's like being in a Mexican village during an evening party. . .unbelievable and completely impressive and unexpected to a first-timer. Also, once inside, there is a Mariachi band, a fun boat ride, many kiosks and shops, and a restaurant that gives the illusion of eating under the stars overlooking the water. Truly breathtaking.

Other 2 favorites? Germany's Beirgarten has a WONDERFUL show, although the restaurant itself is mediocre (to me. . .sorry!). But, it's worth it for the festive dancing and music.

Hmmmm. . . They all are so special for various reasons! Japan, China, France, Morocco, Italy, and England are beautiful! All of these have such unique architecture and landscaping. Norway for the ride. . .
Too difficult to pick!

My three favorites are, hands down, the UK, Italy, and Norway. Now, I think the UK and Norway stem from my overwhelming familial roots, but Italy has some great merchandise and wonderful Alfredo's.
I also discovered this last time that I do like Germany's buffet, and the bakery in France. I'm also a fan of the market in mexico. Of course, Canada is so close to where I live that it's a bit like a trip home in the middle of the vacation...ahh, to be at Epcot again...can't wait to go back!
