was thinking of maybe doing a 2TS meal for dinner one night. Was thinking of yachtsmen steak house, how is it? Anyone like anything else better? Also noticed on allears many of the 2ts meals says "does not include app/sides with DDP" but doesn't say it for yachtsmen steakhouse, misprint?
The regular dining plan doesn't include appetizers. We really enjoyed Jiko, CG and Le Cellier. We haven't tried the Yachtsman, but I've heard it's even better than LC. We are trying it in July.
Another good use of 2 TS credits are Spirit of Aloha or Hoop Dee Do!
It all depends what you want out of your dinner.
Hoop dee doo and Spirit of Aloha include shows.
There are other places that are quite more upscale.
It could also depend on your traveling party and their tastes.
We were really "wowed" by the California Grill the first two times we went - perfect food, great view of the fireworks. Last year, however, the food seamed lackluster - not sure if the restaurant was having an off night, or we are just tired of their fair. Artist's Point has been solid every year - beautiful surroundings and excellent food.
Flying Fish...if it's opened when you go..they're undergoing a refurb right now. I would also recommend Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian. YUM!! At both restaurants, you can find a good variety of surf or turf....or both. Best meal I ever had on Disney property was at Flying Fish. Great food and great service. Have a great time!
For a restaurant, I like Narcoossees and Artist Point, though my first couple of 2 TS meals go to the dinner shows Adds to the Disney vibe. I can go to a nice steakhouse when I'm home!
We have eaten at Yachtsman on several occasions. We have always had outstanding meals. The filet, rib eyes, and scallops are yummy. Our only complaint has been children running around without parents' supervision. This time we are trying Shula's steakhouse , just to change it up. Narcoossee's is another favorite restaurant.. We usually eat at the Flying fish, sometimes twice during a visit. But, it is being refurbished .
I am with others. It depends what you want out of your 2 points. If you want a show, I would definitely do Hoop Dee Doo. If you're wanting a nice dinner, you can't go wrong with Narcoossees or Le Celier. They are both amazing. The best thing to do when going in somewhere that costs 2 credits is to go hungry and get the most expensive items. Getting the most bang for your "buck"!
We have been to many of the signature restaurants. Yachtsman had very good steaks, which is expected of a steakhouse, but the sides and atmosphere were lackluster. Our favorite is Narcoossee's with Artist Point a close second. Both have excellent food and service. Narcoossee's has a great view of the MK fireworks and the Electric Water Pageant while AP is more peaceful and quiet. Others we have enjoyed are California Grill, Le Cellier, Jiko, Flying Fish, and Hollywood Brown Derby.
At every TS restaurant where you order from a menu, you get everything that is listed in the description of the entree. Usually that includes some kind of veggie, but there are restaurants both in DW and the real world where everything is ala carte. For example, if you check the menu for some of the steaks at The Boathouse there are no sides included.
The menus at many TS restaurants in DW will include a separate section, usually below the entree section, that is titled "Sides" or "Accompaniments" or "Enhancements" and these are the side dishes that allears is referring to that are not included in the DDP. Appetizers are also not included in the regular DDP, but are included in the Deluxe Dining Plan.
For what it's worth, Mrs. Homie and I found Hollywood Brown Derby to be absolutely "Meh." Next time we'll probably do Jiko (if Mrs. Homie gets her way) or Boathouse (if I get my way).
