I know when the bride and groom exit the reception it is tradition to toss wedding rice or bubbles but I wanted to do something different. Does anyone have any ideas? Anything but butterflies (my college roommate did butterflies and not only was it a waste of money but half of them were dead)

Well, you could use confetti (sp?). Maybe the mickey head kind. Or Pixie Dust, I know that when we were in Disney early this year, we bought some pixie dust for my little sister (10) and that would sparkle! Just an idea. Well, I hope you can think of something! Good luck! :sunny:

I am getting marries in oct and i went with the "fall in love" theme hehe
I want to leaves and have the flower girl place leaves on the isle
hope this helps

The Dove release is supposed to be pretty amazing. Of course, I'm afraid to do it because I'm almost positive one of them will poop on my wedding dress! :rotfl2:

Hmm...a lot of people do rose petals. I like the Mickey confetti or pixie dust idea too!

We actually did the bubbles, because I really liked how the pictures look! We handed out bubble wands as guests walked into the ceremony, and had bubble machines as we walked back down the aisle...

we did rose petal....of course no one mentioned that people throw them at you instead of in the air....It looked very pretty for the camera, but i was picking rose petals out of my dress all night... :rotfl:

i heard the rose petals have to be bio-degradable ( i didnt spell that right) anyway, where can i get these petals from? also can i bring my own petals for the guest tables at the reception? these can be silk, right? :confused3 Thanks guys

I was at a wedding last Saturday and she had got candy confetti. I was handing it out to everyone and they were eating a little while waiting though. I guess she was allowed to have this because it would wash away in the rain or if stepped on crush and blow away. It was little hearts and smelled like vanilla icing. I think it was boght at A.C. Moore

Candy confetti! Cool! popcorn:: Great idea!

I wasn't allowed to have anyone toss anything at us at our wedding location. But if I did, I probably would have gone with little bags of bird seed.

This is a tacky question, but does anyone have an idea of how much the rose petals cost at Disney? I chose rose petals for the WP exit at my plannign session, but I am still waiting for the dreaded budget!
So excited, yet so nervous! :yay: :guilty: :cool1: :confused3

Disney will not allow you to have sparklers due to safety concerns. I am not sure how much petals cost right now. I used bubbles as well and the pictures turned out wonderful. The confetti I have seen used was flutterfetti. It was pricy when I looked into it.

I believe rose petals are $2-3 a person if you just have them in the basket. if you use cones or something I am not sure.

Rose petal for the cones are 2 dollars per guest (this was in May 06)...it got to be a little high for us so Disney let us use 60-guests worth for 100 people...it looked just fine in the end...

I know you can get bags of rose petals from online florists for a lot cheaper and Disney will fill the cones for you (you have to provide the cones…very easy to make yourself)...

Sparklers also can be used due to the sticks being dropped on the ground and the black ash doesn’t come off the sidewalks....

Thanks so much for the money saving tips! I will have to talk to my planner soon!

i heard the petals have to be biodegradable is this true?? and the reception guest tables can they be silk because i was hoping to ship some down for all he tables instead of using disney :confused3

If you do petals, some will stain the bottom of your gown. Make sure that you find out about the color first.

For favors, I got some of the coolest stuff from the last wedding I went to. Those can be found at msfavors.com. I love bath stuff and their antibacterial stuff..perfect for the park!
