Fave Counter Service...looking for big portions and excellent food

We always eat at Flame Tree in AK, we love it, we eat at Columbia House in MK, but Cosmic Rays is good also, I hate Pecos Bills, they do have a good topping bar but the burger you put it on, in my opinion, is nasty, alot of people like it, but I have a burger phobia anyway, so take that with a grain of salt. If we have to eat CS in DHS, we go to Pizza Planet, it is by far the best thing they have, DHS does not have a good selection of CS. And we have never eaten CS in Epcot because we love LeCellier so much we always plan to eat there.

Another vote for Starring Rolls at DHS. We like the sandwiches and cupcakes, both are huge and one CS feeds two in our family.

We also like Columbia Harbour House at MK, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang at DTD, Sunshine Seasons and so many of the countries in Epcot (many have great options!), Flame Tree in AK, although my DD11 LOVES the italian sandwich at Pizzafari.

For a large counter service meal we love Wolfgang Puck Express or Pepper Market at Coronado Springs when we do the dining plan.

I would highly recommend Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney Marketplace and the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Ditto! EoS is absolutely divine if you like sandwiches. They are huge and very filling. Don't be fooled by the line, it will most likely be wrapped around the corner and maybe even out the door but they do a great job of moving everyone through.

Big portions .....Wolfgang Pucks Express and Cosmic Rays!!

Cosmic Rays is an absolute steal. I was on the DDP last year and got the chicken/ribs combo platter for a QS meal. I think it was like 16 bucks and I struggled to finish it all plus the dessert and side you get as well! Big ups to Ray!

Wow - people really seem to hate the counter service restaurants at HS. We actually love Backlot Express. We usually get the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and I like that they give you a cup to fill your own drink, so we usually go back for seconds there. I also like the atmosphere there, because it looks like props hanging all over the place as if it were a cantina on a set.

Other places we love -
MK - Columbia Harbour House. We usually get the tuna sandwich. For some reason, it always seems like there is plenty of seating and is much quieter than other CS in MK. Maybe because the seating is upstairs.

Epcot - Tangerine Cafe - huge portions and delicious tasting.

AK- Flame Tree BBQ by far. We love the ribs and half chicken and sit in the lower levels over looking Everest.

My DH usually split our CS meals, that way we aren't eating too much at one time. We have an early lunch at 11:30 before the crowds, and then split a second CS meal around 2PM after the lunch crowd has died down. That way it also helps us break up the day more, than eating all at once. The worst mistake we made in one of our recent trips was go to Pizza Plant around 1PM. That's how the day worked out, and we paid for it by standing in very long lines and having trouble finding seating.
