counterfeits are illegal and when you purchase illegal merchandise it can go to support all sorts of crime. thats why people get not so nice about it...they know where the money goes.

on that note, something nice, are you near an outlet mall? mine has swarovski and i love them for costume jewlery. you can buy her a nice pair of faux diamond earrings that will be way better than some rhinestone rip off chanels. :goodvibes i got a pair at TJmaxx once but they were huge.

ITS A PRESENT FOR HER DAUGHTER. i dont think shes trying to buy it out of the trunk of someones car. i think everyone understood this when reading her post, and if she didnt use the correct wording, i STILL dont think you could possibly think she actually wanted an illegal piece of jewelery.

Try chains like forever 21, express or belk. they will have the latest in fashion in fashion jewelery. if the jewelry is stamped ss or silver or something like that, it is fine, and not plastic. :)

You should really do you research on knock off and counterfeit. There are research out that knock off and counterfeit items support child slavery and terrorist. you would be supporting them if you buy things that are fake. A decent Chanel earring start at 250. Personally I rather go by a swarovski earring that would be the same quality at cheaper price with different design

With all due respect, the fact that its a present for her dd doesn't make it okay to purchase counterfeit items. She titled her OP, faux channel (that means fake) she also said knock-off chanel logo, which I assume she means the Chanel logo earrings, but not the authentic Chanel logo price. Counterfeit merchandise is sold in many places, not just the trunk of a car, in fact the internet makes it very easy for people to peddle their counterfeit goods, and it looks as though the OP was searching for someone reputable to buy from. If she didn't realize that what she was searching for was illegal, then no harm no foul in giving her the info. If she was knowingly searching for counterfeits, I have no problem calling her out on it, whether its a gift for her dd or not.

1. Counterfeiting robs the U.S. alone of more than 200 billion a year. This is affects us taxpayers.

2. Terrorists profit from counterfeit merchandise.

3. Many of these factories use children. I personally do not want to wear anything assembled by the feeble hands of an 9-year-old starving Chinese girl.

Give her a Limited (or Macy's) gift card so she can pick out something nice for herself. Stay away from all that counterfeit garbage.
