My DD (11yrs) is wanting knockoff chanel logo earrings. I have looked on the internet but am not wanting to buy from just "anybody". Does anyone know a reputable place that I can buy these earrings? Thanks

You don't want to buy counterfeit merchandise from "just anybody?" Who do you think sells counterfeits?

ouch! You got some harsh feedback there...the only thing that came to mind for me is an outlet store, maybe Nordstom Rack or the like. Hope you are able to find the earrings for the gift.

Nordstrom (or any other major department store) does not traffic counterfeit merchandise.

Also worth noting that the actual Chanel ones are not "real" per say -- they are costume jewelry. My roommate has them and she had to have them replaced at least once due to stones falling out -- and now they don't make them any more.

But I'm not sure what you want -- you're not going to get the Chanel warranty on any fake merchandise, nor the quality. If you want knock-offs just get the cheapest version on eBay or at your local flea market. :confused3

I know our local mall has a booth every year that sells 'inspired-by' merchandise that is similar but not exactly the same. Anything exactly the same is probably illegal. Honestly, I looked at a CC bag in the mall and couldn't tell the difference, but I have never owned a real one.

Counterfit items and knock-offs are two different things. The OP didn't ask about counterfits, she asked about knock-offs.

Sorry OP, I don't know any specific stores.

That's true, but she asked about the logo earrings. Anything that uses the original manufacturer's logo is a counterfeit, not a knockoff.

Yeah, wasn't expecting that kind of response. :sad2: Just wanting to make my daughter happy without spending $400. I see kiosks in the malls that sell faux handbags that look like the designer ones. Wonder if the people who have repremanded me have problems with those places as well. If so, maybe they should sick the police after them. Geez.

But thanks for the suggestions. I also heard that some kiosks in malls sometimes sells them. Will have to go hunting.

Thank you for your suggestion. I guess if they sell them at the mall, they most likely are not illegal or the police would shut them down in a heartbeat. Of course, I wouldn't buy them if they were illegal.

If the items in those kiosks actually sew in a label with the name of a real designer that IS illegal and can be confiscated by the police. For exmple those bags may be similar and may have a crossed XV instead of an LV for Louis Vuitton, but if they actually slap the words Louis Vuitton on them, then it is copyright infringement.

I would definitely try the mall kiosks. If you're going to find them anywhere, that would be it.

If you're close to a large city, I'm sure you can also find them from street vendors. Here in NYC, you can find all sorts of knockoff stuff.

I would also try Target. I know they had an "issue" with Coach when they were selling Coach knockoffs (that really didn't look anything like Coach).

The problem isn't "looking like" the designer items, the problem is pretending to BE the designer items, by using the designer's actual logo or label. You will not find those items in mall kiosks (and yes, as a matter of fact I DO have a problem with them). If you simply want earrings that are "inspired by" Chanel and have a similar (but not identical) logo, you may find them at legitimate sources. But not actual copies.

If what you are looking for (or find) is an exact replica of a Chanel product, using the Chanel logo, that is not made by Chanel then they are counterfeits and illegal. Thats what ot sounded like in your OP. If you are looking for interlocking G's, or a O's then thats different, its considered an inspired design although I'm not sure of the legality issues when skirting around the copyright of the original logo in an inspired design.
FTR, just because you see them in a kiosk in the mall, doesn't make them legal ;)

Have you considered a consignment shop that sells jewelry? I ask because one of my BFFs (I've been dying to use that expression online) found a real, second hand Chanel suit in one! You may luck out!

While at the Mall Look for Clair's or Ice's they carry teen jewelry!! At a descent price!

Check out your local boutiques!

Our area has lots of boutiques that sell items that 'look' like the real thing but aren't and are for pretty cheap!

I remember seeing some 'Chanel' look-a-like earrings for $30. No they're not real, but i'm sure you daughter would be fine with them! :goodvibes
