We have just watched this movie and I thought it was great!!

Tears were shed...

I'm not sure why it got such a low score from the critics!!??

Is it on one of the streaming channels? Seems like I had this on my list to watch but can't remember if it was on tv or at the theater. Guess it would help if I actually wrote my list down instead of trusting my memory.

I watched it on Amazon prime although I'm in Australia not sure if it's the same in the US

Thanks. Of course Amazon prime is one of the few streaming channels I don't have but I'm going to search thru the Roku channel search thingy. It will usually tell which channels have a movie or series & if you need a subscription or pay a one time fee to watch.

We loved it too and I've suggested it to several other people who have also enjoyed it. And we often hate things the critics like, so there's that... (looking at you Power of the Dog )

I usually like movies that "critics" do not like.

I would take a guess it has to do with subject matter. If you read the audience reviews, they are very positive.

I've also got a soft-spot for the Wahlbergs but honestly, unless they're standing side-by-side, I'm never sure whether I'm watching Donny or Mark.

I just had to come back to this thread and say I just watched Father Stu on Netflix. I think if you are Catholic, you will find some parts really funny. If you have no familiarity with that religion or going to Mass, some of that stuff will go right over your head.

So, I thought the movie was great. Funny in beginning/middle and then deep and sad at the end. Definitely cried.

We just watched this movie this evening on Amazon Prime. It was so well done and the casting was perfect.
