Will we ever get out of this airport?
We were flying in from Detroit and the boys were coming in from DFW. We were to arrive at 3:10pm and 3:30pm respectively. I had the whole evening planned out, 3 outlet malls and a grocery run and dinner. Boy was I in for rude awakening not to over plan. We came in as scheduled but the boys flight was late. We had the worst time fighting with those machines to rent a cart to help with the entire luggage. My fearless wife saw an empty cart tied to the ropes so she went over and stole it. If someone lost there cart Im sorry we are the guilty party. My boys was on the phone about 3:50pm and they were talking to me on where we were at, which was by the area where the luggage was to come in. Well all of a sudden I felt a tap behind me and there they were. I was so overwhelmed in seeing them. It has been a few years and boy they have grown. Well after getting there luggage it was off to get the rental car. Well we went to the wrong floor and could not find the National lot. After wandering the floor we decided back to the rental car counter. When we were on the elevator I saw a different floor for National. So off we went and we found the car rental place. We were upgraded on this to a mini van and got a Grand Caravan. Thanks National. So by the time we got out of this airport it was 6pm. Well off to shopping. My son had a GPS system on his laptop and we got lost twice. So after the second outlet I decided to give up on anymore shopping. It was 8pm no dinner and we still had to go to Super Target. So TGI Friday was out (I had a 50 dollar gift card) so off to Wendy. Then off to Super Target which was easy to find. We had 150 in Citibank rewards gift cards to spend to get the boys clothes, food for us for the week and many misc. things. We were well stocked for the week. By the time we were done it was almost 9:30pm. There goes any thoughts of looking at the Dolphin and going swimming. We decided to gas the car up at Hess, where this day continued to get worse. The gas pumps had a leak and everything was down. Lucky after waiting a few minutes it came back up. We got checked in and they allowed me to also turn the rental car in that night. The Dolphin was beautiful as before but I was very disappointed in the upgraded Lake view room. There was no lake to look at and the view was terrible. The family was just too tired for me to complain and get switched so we stuck with the room with no view.
